COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Look up "hops" in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of Stone IPA! "Dry-hopped" for an extra two weeks, this unique process gives our IPA its bountiful hop aroma and rich hop flavor. A full 70+ IBUs (International Bitterness Units) creates this beer’s crisp and refreshing bitter character.

Had the double dry hopped IPA only available in brewpubs (so I was told). Good aroma but not what I expected for the "double dry hopped" version I had. Thought it’d have a stronger aroma. Same aroma as the regular Stone IPA it seemed, so double sounds like a gimmick. Taste was awesome like most of what Stone does, especially the IPAs. Didn’t kill my tastebuds either. Was smooth to drink, good malt balance to the hops. Wasn’t an overwhelming tastebud bitch slap. Solid beer.

Dat lacing. Pours a hazy straw color with a nice white head. Brilliant lacing n the glass. I love it. Fruity estery aroma along the same lines as Ruination. Taste is mostly hops - resin is strong and pine is in there. Mild citrus flavor peaks through as it warms up, but not enough. Good beer, but doesn’t feel very balanced. I prefer a little more malt character in an IPA. I think this beer’s big brother Ruination hits the nail on the head in terms of balance.

Guys. It’s too much. Aroma - shit, really shit. Then you let it be for 1-2 minutes. Really different. Sour, hoppy and "not ready for you" is coming up. Pours- light amber with small white top. Now you’re getting closer to arome a well, smells a litle sour and I would say kinky. Taste now - first taste is like Stella with some added water, then you get the hops, then taste varieties and aftertaste .... uugh Not easy. Dry taste. Need more..... and some more for the taste after the first sip.

Fairly standard IPA. Amber. Hoppy. A touch of mustiness in the nose. Floral hop notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden colored pour. Big white head. Plenty of lacing. Slight hoppy aroma. Citrusy. Not much else. Taste is a bitter bite up front followed by a bit of hop flavor. Some caramel notes follow it.

Inconsistent, oxidized notes, lacks complexity and balance.

It pours a clear filtered? yellow with a small white head, this could be a pilsner and giving it 3 makes me wonder if I'm too kind just because it's Stone. Aroma is hop essence literally.. with a hint of fuel and quite salty as well together with the more traditional citrus, lemon and grapefruity profiles. A good sniffing which appeals me by its originality. Taste surprises right away being very citric. I simply don't understand how so many people can love it that much since it's so distracting? Neverthless, there's a touch of honey malt and it's very clean. Talking about balance is totally out of place though and it didn't seem particularly pleasant. The body is honest, a solid medium body, but not as mouth-filling as other Stones I've had. Basically, this was totally blown away by the Lost Coast Indica we've had just before. Just altogether way too citric sour for my liking, possibly the tartest IPA I've had to date and while it's a characteristic I truly love in many belgians, it didn't seem to fit here. Thanks Martin!

on tap@mugs in brooklyn. i dunno, every new stone beer i taste i expect might be the one to really convince me how good this brewery is. but this seemed like a pretty typical ipa. a huge amount of hops and some decent marmalade and doughnut sweetness. nothing wrong with it in particular
