Awesome aroma of fresh hops, a tiny smidge of malt (and I mean tiny), great aroma, great color, absolutely great everything! One of the very best...what more can I say. wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 30, 2003 White foamy head with lacing. Golden appearance which is see through. Smooth, drinkable, well balanced hops and malt. Nice (small but effective) hop aftertaste. Hop acidity tingles on my tongue as the beer goes down. Slightly dry but not overly so. Excellent beer. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 15, 2002 My kind of beer. Slightly floral scent with a hint of spearmint. Clear golden color with the perfect amount of carbonation. Hoppy but not too the extreme. Crisp and consise. Smooth and complex at the same time. Excellently balanced and easy to drink. Not overpowering but still providing some umph! Slightly bitter overtone and aftertaste. An excellent brew. Thanks jcalambre for another great Stone brew! I need to do a head-to-head taste off with the Victory Hop Devil. Try with a crawfish etouffee and you will be in heaven! urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

What I like most is the blend of citric and herbal hop flavor. It's just brilliant.
Old: Oh, these boys did a fine job, indeed. A study in hops. Whereas Alpha King offers a ton of hop flavor, but restrained bitterness, this beer widens its focus to embrace bitterness as a positive good. I rather like this. goz (359), Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 3, 2002 Light amber pour, with a thick white head that laces very nicely. First pour from the bomber had some large carb bubbles that trickled to the top pretty quickly. Aroma had a strong pine smell to it, like sniffing a freshly fallen pine cone. Taste followed the smell quite nicely, with lots of hops and a long trailing aftertaste. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

This is perfectly hopped. Huge floral hop nose. Intense flavor, with the perfect malt to hop balance. A great IPA, though slightly inferior to the Ruination. Original, 3.9 - Nice color and lacing. Decent aroma of hops and sweetness. I really expected more hops in the flavor, but it is creamy and mildly sweet, which I find enjoyable. This is a prett good IPA, but 90 Minute and Hop Devil are better. Thanks Racegoer! hopscotch (5558), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

This beer rocks.
The color of molten Gold. The aroma is very organic, very floral. The flavor is very spicy and floral with hops galore. This hophead delight has a dry, crisp, bitter finish. An excellent IPA. They should require a liscense in order to drink this beer. If you’re not a hophead, you need not apply.
