By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

i never used to like ales that tasted like they were flavored with a pine branch. consider me converted. the alcohol content certainly helps.

Great beer orange color really clear and fizzy despite their anti fizzy notes. Really bitter hoppy and crisp. Always a guaruntee go to.

Bottle. Pours a slightly golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, mango, melon, slight pineapple, orange peel, pine, some resin and some caramel. Big taste of pine and resin plus grapefruit, melon, some mango, slight orange peel, subtle grass and a caramel backbone. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, resinous hop bitterness in the finish. Full of flavour, very resinous and citrusy. It’s a nice west coast IPA but a bit too dry and resinous to be one of my favourites.

Decent stuff - bitter and refreshing. Some fruity, citric and enjoyable hoppy notes. A bit over rated - still pretty good though. After all Stone never fails.

An opaque body with a decidedly orangey hue. Slightly thinner head than I was expecting. On the nose, not really a hop bomb with a blend of citrus and floral hops. A medium bodied mouth feel. The tastes are in the realm of pine, citrus hops, some dankness, and definitely some caramel malts creeping into the blend. Overall, not quite up to the level of some of my favourite IPAs like Great Lakes Karma Citra, RoboHop, and Thrust, but still a highly drinkable IPA that should be tried by any fan of the style.

I believe that I first tried this gem a decade ago, and yes, I went purely on the logo. If you haven’t tried Stone IPA yet, now’s the time. The appearance, nose, taste, thirst quenching attribute, and after bite all point to excellence. I don’t often indulge due to its price tag, but Bell Bev in South Philly had a great sale. Cheers!

Dark golden ipa with a lovely fresh pine aroma. Citrous fruity flavour, with a very bitter aftertaste. For my taste a little too bitter, but a high quality beer with distinctive character

22oz bottle. Amber orange with a frothy off-white head. Slight haze. Flavors are biscuity malts, caramel, grapefruit, apricot, spruce gum and resinous hops with grassy notes. Sharp and generous bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, oily texture.
