EValP (30), Colorado, USA Nov 16, 2006 Updated: Nov 17, 2006 Great off-white frothy head lasting a good part of the beer. Clear sparkling body but did notice tiny body particles and a thin density. Brilliant amber IPA coloring convinced me to drink.
Heavy hops aroma, slight lemon but more grapefruit/orange; quite like a fruit punch. Light yeast aroma that I thought was a bit meaty, more so as I finishes the glass. Initially lightly sweet and acidic, this IPA finishes with the acidity elevating to a moderate bite and lasts quite short. Fairly full bodied as it is an IPA and a bit dry but has a lively carbonation. This a very good IPA even though it left a slight metallic feel in the mouth.
Guinness4Duff (456), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden pour with a thick frothy white head. Aroma is weaker than I expected, still a nice hop scent though. Flavor has a sweet caramel base with a dominant bitterness. Very well balanced and a nicely put together beer overall. mcferc4 (32), Essex Fells, New Jersey, USA Aug 19, 2008 Such a delicious beer. Amazing aroma, full of piney, citrusy hop goodness. The flavor is full power - acidic at first, then a hop-splosion with a caramel-sweet finish. Like making out with a gorgeous chick who’s chewing hop-flavored gum. Nice long, smooth finish. Right up there with Two Hearted, maybe slightly less balanced. maugus4ever (36), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Aug 19, 2008 Pours golden with a thin white head. Great hoppy floral aroma with some balancing malt. Great mixture of flavors with a delicious hop finish. Awesome IPA. smith4498 (332), Miami, Florida, USA Aug 19, 2008 Pours hazy golden orange with off white head. Grapefruit hop aroma with some sweet maltiness. MIldly sweet with a nice balance of hops and malts. Medium body with soft carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Very good IPA. lithy (118), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 18, 2008 Clear golden lagerish color with a finger of white head. Grapefruit, floral hops and smooth cool malt aroma. Almost buttery, it coats the tongue just slightly and delivers a great hop finish. Bitter but fruity and bright. Enjoyable, dare I say more so than Ruination? Though it would be a preference of the night.
