nimrod (53), USA Feb 9, 2008 12oz bottle. Poured a clear bronze with a nice head and visible lacing. Very floral and citrus aromas that continues into the palate along with piney flavor. This is a very medium bodied IPA with a very smooth upfront taste that finishes with the classic bitterness. This is one of the most unique IPA’s I have tried and is very drinkable.
joekinty (208), rockledge, Florida, USA Sep 4, 2008 Another great ipa had the pleasure of enjoying this one in new york with my buddies nice and refreshing on a hot july day JohnQPublic (162), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy gold with a hint of orange and a small but creamy white head. Nose is big on citrus - pineapple, grapefruit, orange all come through, sweet but clean. Taste starts off with clean, lightly sweet caramel malt and lightly astringent hops, with a finish that allows the fresh citrus to really shine, and a lighter than expected bitterness lingering on the palate. The overall result is an utterly fantastic IPA - not overpowering, refreshing, flavorful, and one of the most drinkable IPA’s I’ve ever had. Empasizes the flavor of the hops, rather than just the bitterness. Superb balance. phishpond417 (1418), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Sep 4, 2008 On draught at the Echo Tap in Madison: Pours a bright cloudy copper colour with a large creamy white head. Aroma is floral all the way through, massive hop flow, grapefruits, lemon and other citrus notes. Taste is firm, astringent, wicked hoppy and chewy just how i like it. for $2.50 taps of this during happy hour, i was pretty happy when i left! Awesome brew, it delivered the perfect amont of hops to my palate. crowderm (159), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 4, 2008 Reddish gold pour with a minimal white head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, with a bit of honey. The hop component is a little understated for my tastes - the citrus in particular is a little flat. The flavor centers more on the floral hoppiness, but includes some very nice clean citrus. Nice refreshing finish. Pretty average mouthfeel. Good beer, but a little disappointing, hopefully I just got an old bottle. Spab (52), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 2, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy yellow/orange gold with minimal white head. Strong hoppy aroma (citrus and floral). Hops in the taste, although I found that the citrus hops tended to dominate, particuarly in the bitter finish. Definitely enjoyable, but can’t quite give it as much love as some other IPAs.
