COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

Pours deep amber, with a thick white fluffy head. Aromas of grapefruit and pine dominate, backed up by an aggressive better flavour that leads into malt and a sour grapefruit finish.

Bronze with foamy head. Aroma is mellow citrusy hops. Taste is a good balance of citrusy-floral hops and caramel malts. Some grapefruit notes. Dry on the palate. Full body for such a low ABV. To me, this is like an IPA-Amber ale hybrid. Easy drinking. Good, but can’t say I love this one. Maybe got a bad bottle because I was expecting more from this.

Amber color, small white head, lots of lacing. Smells like loads of hops and some fresh citrus and cedar. Taste like caramel malts and sweet tropical fruits. Clean touch of bitterness in the end. Not near as hoppy as the smell, but the hops are very balanced with the sweetness of the malts. I would like this beer for spring and summer, but would drink it any time.

Pours a dark amber colour with an off white head. Great hoppy, resinous nose. Some tree sap. Good malt backbone with the hoppy notes coming through. Slighty roasty. Good drinkability, a bit thin but still very good.

This is a lovely red brown brew with a thick and long lasting head and big sticky splotches of lace. Nose is big--huge. Grassy, piney hops really jump out at you and there’s lots of nice citrus and floral notes. Light bodied but full flavored, slightly fruity and medium dry. A bit of iced te astringency comes out in the mildly bitter finsih. Very well done. I love light and full flavored beers.

Tasted at the 2012 St. Louis Centennial Beer Festival from bottle into sampler glass. Poured a mostly clear, light brown color with persistent white foam and some lace.Strong hoppy aromas: earthy, woodsy, citrusy. Agressive hops flavor as well, balanced by complex malt sweetness: biscuity, bready, caramelly, toasty. Classic American ale yeast fruitiness. Medium body, well-rounded mouthfeel, lingering bittersweet aftertaste. As good as you’d expect from Stone.

Nice nose. Hoppy but not overpowering. Full bodied with a nice finish. A nice beer with an attitude. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
