3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Saarlander for this one via Mystery Swap 2.0. This is a beer that has evaded me for quite some time now. The pour is lovely deep ruby coppery with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, hops, some tropical fruit, some brown sugar. Tastes caramel malty, brown sugary, hoppy, with a fresh hit of mid-palate zesty citrus. Complex in aroma and flavor, I’d love to get a case of this.

Draught @ Stone World Bistro. Pours a dark amber color with a small white head. Malty hoppy aroma with some hints of pine needles. Malty hoppy flavor. Sweet malty hoppy finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In the bottle from Wilbur’s. Pours a flocculent amber with a yellow-white thick and residual head. Aroma is as strong a freshly cut grass as any beer I’ve seen. Hoppy pine flavor stronger than many IPA’s. Not very sweet, but the body does not seem to suffer from this lack of sweetness. Mid palate salty fizziness, but it corrects itself to a smooth mellow finish rapidly. Then the hop bitterness hangs around on the tongue for awhile. Great walls of lacing remain behind. Not bad at all.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not great, not bad.. very forgettable. Goes down easy and is refreshing, but there’s nothing about the taste of this beer that will stick in my head days from now.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a 2 finger chunky white head. The aroma is lightly hoppy and a little bland. The taste is mild slightly malty with a hoppy bite. As this is stone’s psuedo take on a light beer its decent and drinkable but no bells and whistles for this one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Stone World Bistro. **Double Dry Hopped at Brewery** Pours a medium amber with off-white head. Aroma is fresh floral and citrus with substantial toasted malt. Flavor is a wonderful hop presence without being overly bitter, caramel roasted malts remain intact. Finish is short but rewarding. I don’t particularly appreciate the regular Levitation but the double dry hop variety adds a dimension that it was lacking.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a darker amber with a nice head atop and lacing. Nose is fruit, mixed with malt. Flavor is a beautiful blending of sweetness, malts, hops and fruit which intermingle wonderfully. It is boldly flavored but all done with great taste and balance. In my opinion definately up there with the other ambers, especially HopBack and Eliot Ness, two of my favorite nrews. Thanks to ogglethorp for the bottle.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2007 botte. Pours deep amber/copper with a medium just off white head. Orange, carmal and malt aroma. Same for taste, but the orange comes through and makes me want to suck down a real orange. Nice session beer for the summer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
I see why this is not distributed as widely as the IPA and Arrogant Bastard: It isn’t nearly as good. Like their Pale ale, it is a great looking beer, but the aroma and flavor just aren’t there. There’s nothing wrong with it, but there’s nothing that great about it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy brownish-amber color with a failry substantial off white head. Aroma is typical Stone, big blast of floral hops, malty goodness, citrus. Flavor is caramel and toasted grains, light roasted malts, a subtle fruitiness, citrus, pine. Palte is medium bodied, medium carbonation, smooth, very drinkable, another great one from Stone!
