Darker reddish amber color. Decent creamy white head deminishes quickly. Aroma was much more hops apparent than I ever remember. Nice fresh herbal hops too. Palate was dissapointing as it was way to nociticably thin. Nice malty flavor of dark bread but quickly cut by the how thin it was. Decent finish as the hops still linger. I have always liked this beer, just havenít had it in a long time. Thought I needed to rate it.

This was ok. The bitterness was late in arriving and sharp. It was overbalanced in the bitter direction. Color was good with a small white head.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. This brew pours a deep brownish red color. Thinnish white head that hangs out for awhile but leaves only minimal lace. Has a great aroma of big malts with a strong hop backbone. Almost smells like an IPA except for the malts. What a tasty beer for being 4.4%abv. Like the last reviewer said this beer could easily be some sort of amber IPA if it werenít for the great malt flavors. The hops are there though, nice and bitter but with a nice bit of sweetness to go along with it. Not thick at all, nice and smooth with good carboantion. Lots of grains on the back of the tongue. I really enjoyed this beer, but I prefer something with a little more bang (abv) for my buck. Although I can get a 1l comm growler fill for $3 so thats pretty darn affordable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2010 Nice for such a low ABV beer. Aromas of flowers, pine, malt and honey. Pours with a very small head that goes. Initial flavor is of honey and sweetened tea, followed by malt and pine. Does taste a bit watered down. Medium but watery textured body with soft carbonation. Very nice for something that can legally (in TX) be called a beer.

On tap at stone. Dark brown color with this interesting purple tint with off-white head. Aroma is strong pine hop with some dark malt. Flavor is pine, dark malt, a little tannic, medium sweet. Medium body and well carbonated. Strong hop presence and slight rich malt.

12 oz bottle-Trade w/snojerk321. deep, clear amber color w/a slight head. Strong piney aroma, smells like a Christmas tree! Strong pine hop floavor, tastes like drinking a Christmas tree! Certainly different. I donít think I could drink this all the time but itís a nice change of pace. Long, piney finish. Thanks Torry!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Pours a amber brown with a medium sized sandy head. Little bits of lacing. Nose is hoppy with florals and citrus, flavor remains hoppy with some malt. Remains on the hoppy side for an amber - which I like. Still, it lacks the maltiness and roast and steers more towards an American Pale.

Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle. This beer pours a deep amber color with a medium foamy off-white head that recedes rather quickly. Small patches of lacing. Piney hops along with caramel and malt in the nose. Medium-bodied with hops, toasted malt and grapefruit flavors. The finish is balanced between citrusy hops and sweet malt, leaving a roasted malt aftertaste. Interesting take on an Amber Ale, leave it to Stone to put a spin on it like this. Overall itís not necessarily something I would try again but itís a decent session beer.

On tap @ Stone. Nice malty nose, roasty. Not much aroma or taste. Rather pedestrian
