This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

Pours a deep amber brown with a tannish head. Aroma is sweet floral hops and big roasted malt. Flavor is initially sweet and becomes more bitter toward the finish. Really not enough malt for a Amber.

Tap at the Blind Tiger. Dark amber pour with a thin white head. Malty aroma with some hint of the hops. Little disappointed din the taste, a little cardboard like, malty funky. i’m not sure if there was a problem with the keg or something, but I expected more.

I was surprised at the bitterness from this amber. Also surprised at the low abv of 4.4%. Nice dark amber, but I thought a little over the top on bitterness. I normally enjoy ambers but found myself struggling to finish this one.

On draft at San Diego Brewery. Hhoppy bite, nice malty balance, thick lacing, citrus nose. Not Stone’s best, but a solid beer.

Too over the top for an amber, by over the top I mean hops. Bitter from the hops. Looks great in the glass, nice aroma, but too overwhelming

Pours red amber with a minimal white head. Fruity apricot aroma. More fruit in the taste with a nice hoppy flavor on the finish. Nicely drinkable. Solid amber ale.

On tap at Bar Great Harry. Dark copper clear in color with a nice fluffty off white head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Hoppy floral malty aroma. Citrusy, piney, earthy hops. Roasty notes. Malty caramel dry flavor. Floral hoppy notes. Finish is bitter. Full bodied. Smooth and very drinkable. Great beer. Easily drinkable.

~Pours honey red with creamy off white head. Nice lacing. ~High hoppy floral scent and caramel. ~Light hoppy flavor with some maltiness. ~Light and dry. ~This is pretty mellow. Would make a great session brew.

12oz bottle(courtesy of RSRIZZO)-Pours a hazy cloudy amber with a huge off white loose head. Aroma of citrus and hops then the malt hits the back of your nose. Taste of hops then some dryness and the malt comes on the back end. Rather light bodied for a amber and a bit too hoppy for a rather malty style.

Poured into an Arrogant Bastard pint glass. Pours a very dark but clear amber with a nice two-finger tan head. Great retention with some spotty lacing. Aroma is at first hoppy, but after prolonged sniffing, cookie-ish malt becomes more prominent. The taste is just about identical to the smell. Citrus hops over cookie malt. Unfortunately this beer isn’t very robust and lacks the malt base to support the hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and clean but rather watery due to the aforementioned lack of a solid maltiness. Very easy to drink and a nice sessionable option from Stone.
