3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy amber color with thin white head that dissipates quite quickly. Aroma is citrusy and piney, a touch of malt. Flavor is of caramel and malt, but well balanced by the hops. Aftertaste is quite malty as well, which lingers a bit. The bottle says 4.4% ABV but it feels stronger than that. Overall, a very quaffable brew. Another good one, if not over the top, from Stone.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottled: hadnt seen this one around....but ofcourse have tried all the stone greats. knew this was somwhere out there and the ’weak’ one fo the bunch. nice toasted malt flavor with non dominant hops but enough to know they are perched on the back porch opening the back door...perfect for the amber classification as a somewhat vague statement. also reminded me of a british esb. wish this was on draft at our local pub instead of that fat tire crap. hope to see you again my friend.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I think its that ambers are very subtle and uninteresting beers and not so much the fact that this wasn’t that good. For an amber this was really nice, but i think it was still a bit of a let down. Aroma gives off tons of citrus hops, kinda getting your hops up. The flavor has a mild caramel malt presence up front finishing not nearly as hoppy as the aroma let on, but still very hoppy for an amber. Pours nice, darker copper, very clear, with a medium white head.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
From the pour I would of thought the alcohol content would of been at least 6%. Usually a strong aroma of hops means a high alcohol content. Like it amber body with a good head and lacing. Little aftertaste but beer was easy on the palate. Picked this one from Papago Pub as I was about to leave for the night.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(12 oz bottle: Hi Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Malty, caramely and lightly sweet initially, the fairly sharp hops bitterness asserts itself in typical Stone fashion and becomes the dominant flavor after the malt fades in the finish. The hops has a modest grapefruit flavor in the finish. Medium in body, but with an increased viscosity that fully coats the mouth. Sweet, caramely, hoppy and very aromatic nose smells like an American Strong Ale. Deep ruddy amber color, lightly hazy. Pours a nice, off-white head and eventually settles to a thin layer, leaving plenty of patchy, ringed lacing on the glass. With all the great beer styles Stone brews, this one is easy to overlook. Don’t!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Citrus hop aroma. Rich red-amber color with a big off-white creamy head. Light body - could use more malt backing. Citrus hops.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy amber/brown color with thin foamy off white head. Aroma has resiny citrusy hops, strong but not at all overpowering, a touch of maltiness and hint of caramel. Flavor is malty with a good dose of caramel, largely lacking the hoppiness and bitterness that is present in the aroma.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle obtained from Trader Joe’s in Phoenix. What a deal, only $1 for a 330mL. Pours a deep copper colour with a small white head. citrus hop aroma. hoppy but very well balanced. easy drinking especially with it’s low alcohol content of only 4.4%. I’d definitely drink this again.
