Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jun 16, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear, darker orange body with a finger-width, dirty tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of layered lacing. Lots of pale caramels, but still dense and aggressive earthy bitterness. Flavor is thinner pale malts, semi-sweet caramels with a very dense earthy bitterness. A real subdued aggression from the hops. Palate is light, but sustaining with a fairly dry, moderate linger. Overall, a nice tasting, lower ABV beer offered from Stone. Somethings a little off IMO, but still maintained lots of hop taste. Enjoyable. drseusszb200 (187), Florida, USA Jun 15, 2009 pours dark golden with a head thatt fades quickly. smells of very liightly sweetened hops and citrus. taste is very bland for a stone beverage. very boring. not my favorite. Drewsi227 (16), Florida, USA Jun 15, 2009 Purs a light brown, very little head that dissapates quickly, nose is very weak, slight hops smell. Taste is rather boring for a a Stone beer. Not terrible, but nothing special joeneugs (289), Livermore, California, USA Jun 15, 2009 Clear coppery color with a hoppy, mettalic aroma, grapefruity and grassy with some caramel in there. Maybe a subtle note of tropical fruit. Taste is tropical and bready. Light bodied and bitter but tasty. The grainy caramel malts balance out the tropical hop flavor. Another well balanced brew from Stone. Amazing this is only 4.4 ABV. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Jun 15, 2009 This reminds me a bit of a toned-down Dogfish 60 Minute IPA. Woodsy, herbal hops with a good malt backbone. I welcome its low ABV. They did a great job given that limitation. halfonit (424), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Jun 14, 2009 Nice dark brown color. Smells mostly of floral hops. Taste if full of hops. Not too much malts, mainly of just the hops. Has a little bite in the end. An overall pleasant brew. jimmbo123 (37), Washington, USA Jun 14, 2009 The quality of the hop flavor in this is the best I’ve tasted. Unless you don’t like hop flavor at all you should like this. I tried it side by side with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale which normally is at the upper limit of my desired hoppiness, but Levitation Ale was much hoppier and tasted better overall. HOPSHUNTER (376), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 14, 2009 Bottle. Poured a hazy amber color with a tall off-white head. Nose is fruity with a mild hop presence and hints of caramel. Somewhat thin in body with soft carbonation and a watery mouthfeel. Flavor is dry with spicy notes and pretty decent hops bitterness. Finishes dry. It’s an amber, still pretty good ofering for such a lackluster style.
