I would say its more of a pale ale or an IPA. Pours dark amber color with tan head. Smells of bitter hops. Tastes hoppy and a little malty with some orange notes. Lower in alcohol and easy to drink. A gotta a hard for Stone beers and I was excited about this one. Amber ales are a stlye that I’ve loved in the past but have been disappointed with lately. Stone gets up to the plate and hits a solid double for me. Completely stylistically correct. Goes down oh so easy. Still complex for an amber on the palate. Yum Deeper in color than most ambers. Nose of watered down hops. Clove, floral citrus hops, caramel malt backbone for balance. Pretty tasty for an amber, with just the right amount of hops. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Pours copper, white head.
Aroma, hoppy, malty, some dark fruits and berries.
Taste, hoppy, some sweet honet with malts. Remains very light to drink, with hoppy finish.
For 4% abv this is one light and amazingly flavorful beer. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2009 Bottled at Mahars. Pours an amber red with a sticky lacing head. Aroma is very sweet and hoppy. Taste is just the freshest thing ever, fresh hops, fresh sweet malty goodness. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2009 Draft. Pours a nice brown with red highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. The hops struck me first with pine and light citrus notes in the nose, but were followed by some roasted malt notes as well. Medium carbonation with a light mouthfeel. Solid hops on the tongue with notes of pine, citrus, and fresh cut grass. The malt plays second fiddle and remains strikingly hidden. Perhaps a little sweetness lurks there. Slightly dry on the palate too. Clean finish considering the hop content. Decent and sessionable, but I would like to see how this one would turn out with a little more malt.
