Off-white micro head with good retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Dark caramel and grapefruit aromas. Thin with caramel and a lasting bitter resin finish. altehkiller (71), , California, USA Apr 7, 2009 This beer is like the entry level beer for those not yet ready for the true intensity of the other Stone brews. Thats not to say its not a good beer however. It is quite an enjoyable beer that is malty and moderately hoppy that goes down easy. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Apr 6, 2009 (12oz bottle) Medium off-white head atop clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some pineapple, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel, resin, light berry. Light-medium body, light effervescence, wateriness, acidity. I guess it’s a West Coast amber. blutt59 (2045), Dallas, Texas, USA Apr 4, 2009 bottle, amber color with some off white foam, aorma of citrus and malt, flavor is hoppy pineapple, finish tails off quickly beerandIT (177), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 3, 2009 Refreshing. Pours dark golden amber with just shy of half an inch of head. For such a light beer the head does stay around nicely. Hops on the nose but not a whole lot else. Laces the glass really well, especially for such a light beer. Leaves the palate in a way that I am not used to when it comes to Stone beer. Nice though for this style of beer, could be a bit more powerful, but what are you gonna do? CheersMate1 (770), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 3, 2009 Nice extremely dark brown in color. This beer has a nice fluffy head that I didn’t expect. Lovely appearance. Dominate hop aroma and flavor. Doesn’t have the flavor that I expected, but VERY good. I love the use of hops. I am drunk so forgive the crazy rating. Blah! I think I am smelling fresh hops. Very good aroma A little too thin and focues on the hops a little too much. Nice hoppy flavor. I enjoy hops, but for an amber ale, I just don’t know.
