vikingbeercbus (34), Columbus, Ohio, USA Feb 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours deep brown with a thin white head. Particularly hoppy without too much bitterness. I was struck by the light palate, a little too thin and watery feeling in my mouth. A good beer for a warm summer night. Maddog (231), Kettering, Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2009 A deep, dark clear amber with a nose of malt and light floral hops. This beer tastes fresh with small amounts of malty sweetness and a crisp hop finish. Very tasty, refreshing, a true beginner’s beer or one in which to savor outside on a hot summer day. I wasn’t expecting too much because ambers are not a favorite style of mine, but Levitation is balanced and even leans on the side of hops. verymerrymonk (255), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2009 Pours a deep mahogany with a slim white head. Slightly sweet caramel up front with dry, pine hop finish. Very drinkable. sja14 (105), Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2009 Hazy reddish brown with a fading white head. Unique flavor with a dry woody and caramelly malt flavor. I want to say it has a rye flavor but not too sure. Reminded me of two brothers cane and ebel. Not bad. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Feb 6, 2009 Bottled. Poured clear fiery orange with a fine cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and biscuity notes supporting resiny pine sap, grated orange zest, and drier, dusty yeast.. soft with a passive-aggressive hop presence that was well-utilized. The flavor was centered around dry caramel, again with a substantial hop presence (pine, orange, and a pinch of something somewhat earthy and English-inspired).. finished with plenty of residual bitterness. Lighter-bodied and well-balanced on the palate with lovely hop character.. great brew! Nephilium (541), Ohio, USA Feb 5, 2009 Mild floral hop aroma, with a touch of biscuit malts behind it. Pours a clear reddish-amber, with a cap of light tan head. Flavor is a hint of hops, and balanced biscuit/caramel malts, light body, lingering finish. Nice sessionable beer. Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Feb 2, 2009 Bottle from a box ordered from Beers of Europe, consumed 01-02-09 Pours wonderful dark reddy brown with an off white head. Really fresh hoppy aroma with some malt. Taste is really fresh green hops, loads of citrus, some maltiness joins in the afray, its very simple but very nice. A7 A4 F7 P4 OV13 3.5 MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 1, 2009 Bottle. Mahogany pour with a little beige head. Aromas are pretty thin... a bit of a medicinal pine edge. Flavor is about the same... medicinal side takes much of the enjoyment out of this particular beer. I just don’t care much for this.
