Wasnt a fan back then, not a fan now. Dark amber with an off white medium sized head. Aroma is too subtle, malt and hops but hard to make out. Flavor is somewhat toasted with some one-dimensional bitter hops. Mouthfeel is thin. The only disappointing brew Ive had from an otherwise extraordinary brewery. Nightfall (647), Athens, Greece
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2008 Bottle from UtoBeer. Hazy amber-brown color with a fast diminishing white head. Hoppy aroma with fruit hints. Very dry and hoppy flavour with a bitter finish. Overhoppy but enjoyable nevertheless. leaparsons (4700), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Bottle. Brown and ruby with a small head. Aromas are woody, hoppy and floral with pine. Quite smoky with earthy notes. Flavours are sweet toffee malts with earthy hops and spices. Sweet pine on the finish. Good. fiver29 (713), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Updated: Aug 21, 2009Bottle pours amber with a very thick head. This bottle is way too carbonated. The glass fills mostly with foam. There is no hop aroam so I am guessing that this is an aged bottle. It smells like mostly sweet malt. Has a medium light mouthfeel. Flavor is sweet caramel malt. Overall a nice session brew if you like aged malty amber ales.
Update: Rerate after having this on tap. Aroma is wet sticky hops. Opulent mouthfeel. Carbonation is perfect. Tastes like oily hop resins with soft malt undertones to back it up. This is a great beer on tap. ghawener (953), San Salvador, El Salvador

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2008 Had this on tap at Carrboro Beverage Co. Pours a nice reddish brown with a medium, tan head. Aromas of floral hops, hop resin, and citrus. Taste is like a dark IPA in my opinion. Lots of sweet caramel malt but this is almost overtaken by the hops- unbalanced I feel. Aftertaste is dry and resiny. Overall very good. I would not think the alcohol content was so low- but who cares. clong83 (243), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Pours a nice looking reddish hue with a beige head that lingers. Aroma of hops and resin. Right up front in the flavor are the hops. The body has a nice caramel sweetness to it to balance out the spicyness. Well carbonated and a very dry finish that leaves a piney flavor aftertaste. Pretty good amber, this has a lot of what I like in a good amber. douglas88 (1577), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2008 Bottle form College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO. Pours a dark amber color with a medium tan head. The aroma is full of citrus and hops, some light caramel also. The taste was quite nice; lots of caramel malts, balanced well by a nice hoppy bite. Some citrus and a smooth medium body. Nice. Very quaffable.
