Skeegle (476), Maryland, USA Jul 31, 2008 I liked this beer was super hoppy but light in character. That is a hard beer to make satisfying, and Stone does well with this. The palate is watery which is sort of refreshing, its like a very wet IPA. Very nice and different. boFNjackson (1232), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 28, 2008 OBF, Tap... Poured reddish/amber with a thin, beige head. Aroma is fruity with mild hops and balancing malt. Flavors are leafy and earthy with spices and herbs that mix with hops and malt. Not as aggressive as I would hope for an ale from Stone. thenick (734), North Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 22, 2008 Tap @ Stone Brewing Co, Escondido, CA. Pours a golden amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is earthy notes with hops thrown in. Taste is also hoppy with citrus hops and malt/caramel notes thrown in. The beer is pretty light on the palate, but it does not take away from the overall experience. dkachur (2311), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks! Bronze color with a medium head and medium retention. Aroma is strong on vegetal hops. Taste is also hoppy on the vegetal hops with notes of caramel and citrus. Light but bristly mouthfeel. BlackMail (55), Evergreen, Colorado, USA Jul 12, 2008 Poured copper with a sweet head. The flavor is sweet carmel with a malty after taste. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Jul 12, 2008 Pours a deep amber brown with a tannish head. Aroma is sweet floral hops and big roasted malt. Flavor is initially sweet and becomes more bitter toward the finish. Really not enough malt for a Amber. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 11, 2008 Tap at the Blind Tiger. Dark amber pour with a thin white head. Malty aroma with some hint of the hops. Little disappointed din the taste, a little cardboard like, malty funky. i’m not sure if there was a problem with the keg or something, but I expected more. Jabswitch (206), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 6, 2008 I was surprised at the bitterness from this amber. Also surprised at the low abv of 4.4%. Nice dark amber, but I thought a little over the top on bitterness. I normally enjoy ambers but found myself struggling to finish this one.
