Commercial Description:
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

Pours a glowing red amber maroon color, with a small light tan head. Smells of musty hops, somedark fruit, and a little grapefruit as well. The flavor is more on the hoppy side for an amber. Medium to light bodied and very easy to drink. Little bitterness is left behind on the palate. Pretty ful flavored for an amber, probably could drink a bunch of these at a sitting.

I liked this beer was super hoppy but light in character. That is a hard beer to make satisfying, and Stone does well with this. The palate is watery which is sort of refreshing, its like a very wet IPA. Very nice and different.

OBF, Tap... Poured reddish/amber with a thin, beige head. Aroma is fruity with mild hops and balancing malt. Flavors are leafy and earthy with spices and herbs that mix with hops and malt. Not as aggressive as I would hope for an ale from Stone.

Tap @ Stone Brewing Co, Escondido, CA. Pours a golden amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is earthy notes with hops thrown in. Taste is also hoppy with citrus hops and malt/caramel notes thrown in. The beer is pretty light on the palate, but it does not take away from the overall experience.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks! Bronze color with a medium head and medium retention. Aroma is strong on vegetal hops. Taste is also hoppy on the vegetal hops with notes of caramel and citrus. Light but bristly mouthfeel.

Pours a deep amber brown with a tannish head. Aroma is sweet floral hops and big roasted malt. Flavor is initially sweet and becomes more bitter toward the finish. Really not enough malt for a Amber.

Tap at the Blind Tiger. Dark amber pour with a thin white head. Malty aroma with some hint of the hops. Little disappointed din the taste, a little cardboard like, malty funky. i’m not sure if there was a problem with the keg or something, but I expected more.
