elcaballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA May 2, 2008 Eh, kind of a dissapionting brew from perhaps my favorite brewery...its drinkable and mild but it lacks the kick i love from stone beers bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA Apr 29, 2008 On taps at Newport Pizza and Ale. Pours with a nice caramel brown hue with a creamy off white head. Nice armarillo citrus nose. Good middle with a crisp, clean hoppy ending. Very drinkable+ JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 22, 2008 Draught No head to speak of; deep ruby-amber beer. Hops, dark grapes, lightly smoked pinewood, chocolate cake. Well-filled cake with hops, more dark grapes, raisins and leather. Surprisingly light MF, not empty, but all the same watering out. A dark variety on the Stone principle. To try out, even if I’m not in love with it as with the Bastards. Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Apr 20, 2008 HUGE head!! At least 3 inches in my tulip glass. Settles slowly. Very dense and creamy on top. Not hoppy aroma with some roasted malts, citrus hops, lemons and a bit of caramel. Very nice crimson brown in color. Lots of roasted grains in the flavor with a bit of caramel, some toasted bread, bitter grapefruity hops and a light fruityness. Easy drinking with a lingering roasty and bitter aftertaste. A good everyday drinking brew. Nice and hoppy. alraicercsu (166), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA Apr 10, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark copper with a tall but light beige head. A nice floral aroma with a nice hoppy finish. rustychiles (1007), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 2, 2008 Pours a nice copper with 2 fingers of white head. Aroma of hops and malt. Flavors of malt, and quite a bit of hops and hop bitterness. Lots of hop flavor and a lower alcohol content make this a good lawnmower or session beer. Nicely done Stone. ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA Mar 25, 2008 Bottle courtesy of BMan113VR. Pours a nice red color with a medium sized off white head. Nose is hoppy, a bit fruity and dry. Taste is hoppy malty, dry and has notes of fruityness. I almost wonder if this beer is made from the second running of Stone IPA as I notice many of the same characteristics. Very nice lacing on this one. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Mar 21, 2008 This amber ale poured with a decent beige head and a yeasty aroma. The flavor is roasted malt and floral hop, with a nice bitter bite at the finish.
