Radek Kliber (3930), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Jun 9, 2007 Bottle at Mondial 07
Light brown, clean ale, fine thick crown displayed.
Clean hoppy, citric – fruity aroma. Refreshing, pleasant nose.
From first sip you will notice very clean work. Frontal mineral hops, smooth body. Session bitter ale, very drinkable and refreshing. Neatly balanced. This is one of few excellent examples of lighter (alcohol wise) examples from USA proving that more is not always better. Highly recommended!
MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA Jun 4, 2007 pours an amber color w/ a pretty thick white head and some nice lacing. Aroma is some citrus almost grapefruit skins with a light carmel and almost a floral part. Palate is pretty avg. Flavor is fairly light some carmels and basic citrus.. like a real light ipa w/ some over grains.. not bad, not stellar. Quevillon (1519), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada May 31, 2007 Bu au Mondial 07. Couleur terre-cuite, très peu de collet. Arome d’houblon très sucré. Goût d’houblon liquide et amère. Passable! hellbilly (1502), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA May 30, 2007 nice dark copper color. malty grapefruit nose. huge clean grapefruit flavor remains for a nice mouthfeel. light caramel and hop balance make this a very good amber. a change from stone’s usually aggressive beers... chadje (129), Pasadena, California, USA May 29, 2007 Updated: Dec 31, 2008Bottle and on Tap. Pours a a light amber color and smellls sweet and hoppy. It tastes sweet and fruity with plenty of hops. This one surprised me and tastes very good. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA May 29, 2007 Tap. Clear amber pour with a squatty tan head. Floral aroma with pine and malt. Subtle malt and hop blend with a roasty end. A nice change from Stone. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA May 26, 2007 A nice piney hop aroma. Pours a brown with a red hue and a one finger thick tannish head that hangs out throughout the drink. Flavor is initial piney flavor, Pretty intense for the style actually. Some nice roasty malt, some chocolate flavor also, comes in at the end. The body is pretty damn light actually. This is obviously Stone’s session ale. Pretty good really. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA May 25, 2007 Bottle. Pours an amber color in the glass with a very thick, frothy, off-white head that leaves thick lacing down the glass. Hoppy yet sweet aroma with a malt background. Nice malt and hop mix in the flavor. Light body and slightly watery. Mild bitterness throughout. One of the better amber ales I’ve had.
