The quality of the hop flavor in this is the best I’ve tasted. Unless you don’t like hop flavor at all you should like this. I tried it side by side with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale which normally is at the upper limit of my desired hoppiness, but Levitation Ale was much hoppier and tasted better overall.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Severian (42) - Saint Charles, Missouri, USA - NOV 24, 2011
Bottle to glass. Pours an opaque amber. Short lasting one finger light cappiccino head. Smell is grass and pine and a small whiff of dark malts. Taste is a balance of piney hops and once again, a bit of dark malt in the backbone. I can taste a bit of bitter citrus as well. Good carbonation. Feels surprisingly thick for a lower alcohol beer. Very good
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 zen (41) - Long Beach, California, USA - MAR 23, 2004
Slight diversion for Stone. Pours nice decent head, scattered lace all the way down. Smells of caramel, pine and grain. Taste is of malt and laced with citrus. Light bodied with a nice pinch of hops at the finish. The hop profile appears a bit different with this Stone outing. A fresh beginning from Stone tailspins towards the end. All the right stuff and absolutely no direction or cohesiveness. Finishes dry, but left me yearning
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 surlysober (41) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 14, 2008
FIRST TRIAL: Pours a nice ruddy reddish brown with a tightly packed creamy head; aroma is grassy hops and lightly toasted malt; the bitter/grassy hop finish nicely cleanses the palate and balances out the touch of sweet malt in the flavor. Overall this was a dynamite second beer and helped clean off the remnants of the supersticky creme brulee stout that was left on my palate from the previous beer. I was pleasantly surprised by this, and am now even more pleased that Stone has made it to Wisconsin.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 PKPMarine (37) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 10, 2009
Local brew, but I haven’t had a chance to try it at the brewery yet. Tried it for the first time out of the bottle. Pours clear amber color with minimal head. I didn’t find it quite as bitter as some of the reviewers here. Taste is pretty hops forward, with a good spiciness. It could use more malt to balance the flavor.

0,355l Bottle. Amber colored. Low and thick head. Aroma is grapefruity, black tea and citrussy hoppy. Taste: Cracker, passion fruit, pine needle and little parfym. Pretty full body, with pleasant, fizzy carb and long bitter finish.

Dark amber almost brown color with good wheat colored head. Decent scent with Carmel and toasted malt smell. Great taste of pine with the toasted malts. Almost like a Smokey IPA
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 vikingbeercbus (34) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 15, 2009
Bottle. Pours deep brown with a thin white head. Particularly hoppy without too much bitterness. I was struck by the light palate, a little too thin and watery feeling in my mouth. A good beer for a warm summer night.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BarBache (33) - NORWAY - JAN 25, 2013
bread, grass, citrus, a liitle bit unsure about the aroma, i feel the hop clearly, and feel that the malt is a little hidden. But the more i smell the more the malt come in front...LOL.cloudy, nice amber coulor, medium creamy head. The bitter is medium, but a liitle in the aftertaste, medium sweetnes, i feel that the balance is nice..medium body, creamy, the finish feels like it gone hang and then it just stop. Easy drinking and good ale,
