poured from a 12 oz bottle into a shaker glass. Pours a very nice deep amber colour with a thick foamy head which quickley subsides. Very hoppy aroma and bitter taste. If hops is your thing, this is an excellent session beer. Excellent lace on the glass which lasted to the bottom.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice clear, amber/red with good, light tan head and good carbonation, sticky head that fades slowly and leaves nice lacing. Nose is beautiful (though not to deep) piney, grassy hops, complimented by sweet, fruity malt and candy sugar. A bit thin in the mouth (seems watered down) but with a decent hop attack that really comes through on the swallow and a decent, biscuity malt character and a touch of caramel. Decently balanced and very easy-drinking, but the taste is a disappointment (dull) after that nose.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2013 Decent brew but not my style as taste is too bitter and mouthfeel is too thin.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice roasted malt flavor and heavily hoppy on the aroma. Thick and creamy tan head. Very atypical for an amber and certainly not their best brew but very nicely done by Stone.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
clear, dark brown like cherry chocolate with a 2 finger foamy head.
nose is well balanced with malt+hops, and a little bit of sugar.
taste is much more hoppy than the nose, and rather mild and bitter.
all around a little too hoppy, with not enough malt to balance it out. I can handle the IBUs, but there needs to be a little more malt base to build on.

Great easy drinker. Great hoppy aroma and taste. Just what you would expect from Stone even with the lower ABV. Hoppy Citrusy and a good light to medium body. A well balanced Stone session beer.

Draught at the White Horse’s American Beer Festival 2009. Pine and orange dominate in both the aroma and flavour. There is some grassiness to it as well plus and nice bitterness throughout. A good beer.

Very nice tone-downed Stone Beer. I am a big Stone fan and this is a nice change from some of their over-the-top offerings (which I am very fond of). Nice amber/brown color with a small off-white head. Hoppy aroma with a hint of caramel. Hop flavor balances some of the sweetness that some ambers have. Good slightly bitter dry finish. Very enjoyable.
