Jan 18, 2008 Aroma of fresh hops. Color is a bright clear amber with low carbonation and a nice tan head. Taste is super hoppy. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp. Finish comes in with a bright hoppiness that is a little spicy then a mellow malt flavor that has a bit of caramel to it, this is followed by an easy bitterness and what I can only call a creamy feel. After taste is dry as the bitterness builds a touch. This is a wonderful well balanced brew, a bit hoppier then you would expect an Amber to be but still wonderful.

Mar 25, 2008 Bottle courtesy of BMan113VR. Pours a nice red color with a medium sized off white head. Nose is hoppy, a bit fruity and dry. Taste is hoppy malty, dry and has notes of fruityness. I almost wonder if this beer is made from the second running of Stone IPA as I notice many of the same characteristics. Very nice lacing on this one.

Apr 24, 2009 Deep russet color. Hoppy nose, but not as in your face as many Stone beers. Body is light, but aroma hops once again shine through. Very little bitterness at the end. Very much like the Pale Ale, but without the bitterness. Nice beer.

Sep 1, 2009 Shared by Jerc and Mabel. Appearance: Rusty orange/red with a small white head. Aroma: Lovely hops, floral, fresh, mango, pepper and pine. Flavour: Bitter hops, grassy straw, pine, nuts and malt. Interesting!

Aug 31, 2006 Pours a red amber color with a nice sized off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, citrus, and a hint of hops. Not very strong, but a very good flavor for the style. I’m drinking this warmer than I probably should, but it makes the flavors stand out. Flavors of sweet caramel malt, citrus, grapefuit, and piney hops. Easy to drink and nice flavor. Excellent for the style.

Aug 16, 2005 Pours copper red with a medium layer of light tan head that settles fairly quickly. Orange peel and floral hops, lightly fruity and a nice background of warm malt. Much more resiny-piney hop character than the aroma would indicate, making it a bit astringent. Just a faint toasty malt in the finish. Nice full mouthfeel for the ABV. A very solid beer. Not really what I think of as an amber, but more interesting than most in the style. The aroma promises more than the tasting delivers, but still a good beer.

Mar 2, 2009 Been wanting this for some time. Pours a dark copper and a spongy strong white head, great lacing. Dense earthy hops prevail through a caramel malt nose. Impressive. It’s weighted with grit and earth up front, then quickly dissipates through a stemmy chewy hop midpalate into a balanced toffee finish. Finishes light and refreshing.
