Flavors of malt, and quite a bit of hops and hop bitterness. Lots of hop flavor and a lower alcohol content make this a good lawnmower or session beer. Nicely done Stone. jb (1063), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Nice looking, traditional amber, dark orange. Decent head, decent retention. Pine aroma along with smokiness. Palate is nice, a bit light and foamy and not overbearing, yet lush. Malty too, caramel, nutty, real good offering. ben4321 (1061), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 11/8/09
Aroma: The aroma is citrus and orange hops, some caramel, some malts, and other fruits as well
Appearance: It pours a nice clearish red-amber color with a thick, frothy tan head, that leaves a lot of lace
Flavor: The taste is not quite as nice as the nose, but it is pretty good, pretty balanced between the hops and malts
Palate: The body is light-medium, but with a nice (I’ll be it dry) mouthfeel, and slightly watery texture
Overall Impression:
I’m surprised I’ve never rated this one before, I’ve had it quite a few times, and at 4.4% it remains one heck of a session ale. This one has a lot of the typically Stone qualities that I really like in their beers, and it is a very solid example of what an Amber Ale can be. Overall, it makes for a great session that you can enjoy many of considering the gravity of the beer. A really nice, quality session brew.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2005 Dark amber color with a strong hoppy aroma. Wonderful combination of citrus, malts, and hops in the taste. Very smooth drinking beer. IPA-like hoppiness, but smoother. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2004 Pour is a dark cherry amber color with a modest light tan head. Nose is caramel rich like their pale. Flavor starts burnt caramel sweet followed by a light hop bitterness and finishing long and dry. Kinda tame for Stone, but a quite quaffable session brew. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Aroma was good. Appearance was very nice. Flavor was great, the dry hops really came through from begining to end. Palate was very good. Lost points on the alcohol %.
Good beer, great flavor. MrBendo (1053), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is caramel malts and a healthy dose of floral hops. No surprise in the taste. Nicely bitter finish. A well done amber. haddon90 (1044), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2004 A decent Amber Ale. Copper pour with a thick off-white head. Citrusy aroma. Not too overpowering. Caramel, citrus, and some sweetness in the flavor. Well put together, even if I'm not the biggest fan of Amber Ales. Still not too bad from Stone. Bought this 12oz bottle from Beverages and More in San Diego.
