COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

This liquid poured a dark red-amber with a light, soapy, white head. The aroma is dusty, peppery, rye with no body. Small amounts of lacing on the glass, and very sticky. The palate is thin as well, no body and the taste is bitter, unpleasant and a little salty. Iím am really disappointed in this offering from Stone; it is only disagreeable with no redeeming qualities at all.

Cask at Churchkey. Labeled as dry-hopped with Simcoe. Clear copper, big-bubble edge head. Aroma of fresh hops. Flavor has caramel candy with a smoke edge. Very smooth. Bitter throughout. Nice.

12 oz. bottle poured. Deep copper color with a small off white head. Aroma is hops, pine, hint of citrus and hint of caramel/malt. Taste is hoppy, hint of citrus and caramel with a nice ending bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear amber. Untidy, off white, foamy head. Fruity sweet. Grassy hop. Taste is slightly, spicy dry. Some bitterness follows. Palate is a little watery. Finishes light bitter. Good session beer, albeit a bit thin.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines, cheers Ash! Pours clear red-brown, thick off-white head. Aromas of pine, citrus, fruity hops. Taste brings malt character, near toffee, and more orange citrus. Light body, a tad thin perhaps, but a nice, long bitter finish. Good.

Pours a cloudy, reddish color with and off white small sudsy head. Aroma is fruity, floral, sweet malts, and some caramel. Taste of citrus fruits, maybe some dark fruit (plum/cherry), and sweet caramel along with some bitter mixed in. Iíd say medium bodied, well carbed, and had a very smooth and crisp feel.

Was surprised to see the alcohol content here. Nice body flavor and presence for something that is about as high powered as bud light. Great amber copper color. Nutty and caramel and all that you would expect from a lightly hopped amber ale. Finish is a little metallic but otherwise a solid drink for the style.

Aroma: Malt: Hops: Medium, Guava, grapefruit, Appearance: Clear copper body. Medium frothy tan head. Good retention. Flavour: Malt: Medium: Roasty, Light, toasty, Hops: High, Guava, light grassy, Bitterness: Medium-high. Finish: Dry with lingering hop bitterness and flavour. Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium-high carbonation. Light astringency, Overall: Great hop aroma, but it overpowers the malt completely. In flavour the malt can be detected, but in a background note, not a supporting role. I feel that this beer might do better as an IPA than Amber Ale. But, it is still a great tasting, very hop forward beer that I will happily drink. 335 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 10B. American Amber Ale

Bottle. Pours quite dark amber with a lovely creamy head with excellent lacing and retention. Aroma bit underwhelming, though. Full body, bitter and balanced in the mouth. Good follow through. Nice.

Thin flat body. Excellent rich amber color. Smoky, rye bread malt. Bitter, intense finish as is typical of all of the Stone beers Iíve tried. Didnít taste the fruit or floral.
