chicagodri (485), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 17, 2008 A decent brew from Stone, but one of their less exciting. If you want overpowering hops this isn’t your beer. That being said, I do think it is a nice amber ale. Nice malty flavors and a little bit of citrus hops. Nice balance.
SuperDave70 (766), Arizona, USA Aug 31, 2008 What’s this? An amber I could actually give a crap about? Say it ain’t so!
Pours a deep amber color with a creamy tan head that melts away slowly leaving some drippy lacing. Aroma of roasted nutty malt, pine hops, and citrus. Flavor is similar, with not overly sweet malt and a nice hoppy bite. A bit thin on the palate, but the prickly carbonation helps make up for that. Seriously not bad at all, which is a bit of a surprise for me in this category. EricE (233), Beltsville, New Jersey, USA Aug 28, 2008 Red brown clear pour with a thin white head. Fruity hop aroma. Malty flavor with a strong citrus hop character. Slight sweet with a bitter hop finish. dlovell2 (110), Columbia, Maryland, USA Aug 27, 2008 Amber color with white head. Pine aroma. Very dry beer. Hops taste of pine but flavor does not linger in after taste. This beer was ok. 1_2many (231), Ohio, USA Aug 26, 2008 Alefest sample. Aroma is decent with plenty of pine and citrus hops but this was lacking on flavor. Feels watery and with low carbonation. Decent but disappointing. AndyReynolds (55), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Aug 26, 2008 Poured a golden color with a thick white head. The aroma was hoppy with hints of pine and grass. Everything was awesome about this beer until it went in my mouth. It tasted very flat and watered down. It was almost trying to be an IPA, but couldn’t pull it off.
