The color is a dark amber with a light brown head with some nice lacing.
The smell is a bit of wet hops. A real malt presence gives an interesting flavor.
The taste is quite mellow. It is malty with som slight hopieness. It has a bit of a grassy flavor with some earthy feel to it.
The feel is quite light for a Stone beer. A nice soft crisp refreshing beer that is still strong in flavor.

A gotta a hard for Stone beers and I was excited about this one. Amber ales are a stlye that I’ve loved in the past but have been disappointed with lately. Stone gets up to the plate and hits a solid double for me. Completely stylistically correct. Goes down oh so easy. Still complex for an amber on the palate. Yum Deeper in color than most ambers. Light caramel, toffe nose, with peachy alcohol and some resiny pine. Taste smooth bitter, resinous, with sweet (peachy) fruitiness and sweet breadiness and faint roasty, chocolate. Palate is creamy and thin with a dry finish, slightly sticking mild bitterness and a faint tropical, fruit roll-up. Very drinkable, but finish is slightly thin and lacking. Very surprising. Taste is big and hoppy. I had to check the label again to verify this was 4.4%abv. This is a really big beer for a session beer. Finishes very clean without an overwhleming hop note. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 24, 2005 Cloudy amber color with thin white head that dissipates quite quickly. Aroma is citrusy and piney, a touch of malt. Flavor is of caramel and malt, but well balanced by the hops. Aftertaste is quite malty as well, which lingers a bit. The bottle says 4.4% ABV but it feels stronger than that. Overall, a very quaffable brew. Another good one, if not over the top, from Stone.
