COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

Cask at the RAF 2003: Nice aroma of juniper, lemon rinds and pine. A little bit like eating a piece of an orange rind, but overall a good mouthfeel and a clean crisp finish.

Draft at the Stone Kickoff at the Blind Tiger Ale House in NYC. Not a bad beer. Just a litt tame from a brewery that makes great big beers. Nice amber with a hint of hops.

11/14/03. On draft at the Stone Brewery in San Marcos, CA 11/14/03. Pours a clear amber with nice off-white color head that lingers. Very mild nose of hops, lightly malty. Shimmering but quick lacing. Looks better than it tastes. Thin-to-medium mouthfeel, decent flavor-- lightly nutty and mostly malty, again hops just to accentuate a bit. Pretty long finish for what it is, but not as elegant as the other Stone brews. A decent session beer overall, but really nothing more.

For a session ale, I found this to be quite enjoyable. I't the perfect beer to have when you want one more that isn't too strong, but still has a pleasing flavor.

Cloudy amber/brown color with thin foamy off white head. Aroma has resiny citrusy hops, strong but not at all overpowering, a touch of maltiness and hint of caramel. Flavor is malty with a good dose of caramel, largely lacking the hoppiness and bitterness that is present in the aroma.

Bottle. Citrus hop aroma. Rich red-amber color with a big off-white creamy head. Light body - could use more malt backing. Citrus hops.

Iím so used to stones other beers that this just seems plain. Itís definetly a step up from bud or coors but thatís what I really feel like it is in a way. I guess this would be a great bbq beer if your looking for something to drink with your non beer buddies.

Bottle. Initial burst of malty, floral and hoppy aroma that became more subtle after a few seconds and included hints of caramel and vanilla. Clear, amber/brown color with frothy tan head that dissipated into a minimal head fairly quickly. Malty, roasted flavors with some floral hop character and slight caramel. With each sip, there was a powerful spike of bitterness that only lasted a second and settled into a pretty well balanced flavor. Medium carbonation. Medium-bodied.

Beautiful stuff; more flavor than Stoneís Pale Ale, less than their IPA. This is something I could drink often without tiring of it.

12 oz bottle. Foggy amber with a spongy oatmeal head. Leaves tendrils of lace. Musty hops and a little woody molasses. Tastes a bit like a flat 7-Up with bitter green grass. Watery with low carb. Stone really held back on this one.
