COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

Dark amber color in the glass with a small head. It has a mild aroma of hops and leaves. Taste has some carbonation which I noticed first. Slight taste of citrus but bitterness overrides everything.

Smells fantastic, toffee notes. Looks good too, a burnt Amber. Tastes very light but with a creamyness. Very refreshing.

The beer pours a dark copper color with a small light brown head. A smell of wicked strong hops and not much else. The taste is pretty good but lacking somthing. Good carbonation and a nice beer.

From someone else six-pack: Pours an amber color with a very nice beige head. Aroma is piny hops for the most part, along with some metallic aspect. Taste is bitter with a mellow finish. Taste is fine, albeit not too interesting. I’m gonna chug the whole six-pack for that is what it is good for.

Amber in color with an average off-white head. Aroma is of malt water, light roastiness, biscuit, and spicy hops. Taste is of pine, malt, multi-grain crackers, and leaves.

On tap, served in a pint glass. Ruby amber color with a small tan head. Nose is bread, caramel, hops; taste follows with some grass. Drinkable but not hoppy and bitter like so many Stone offerings.

Bottle. Pours a clear, dark copper with khaki head. Good retention and abundant lacing. Aroma is mildly hoppy, citrus, not getting much malt for an amber ale. Flavor seems more balanced, mildly bitter, hoppy, citrus/juicy up front, fading into mild malt, nutty, and a bitter finish and aftertaste. Malts did seem to come out a little more as it warmed, but still underwhelming. Moderate carbonation, light body, and crisp texturing, fairly refreshing especially with the low ABV. A good brew, but significantly hop forward to the point where most of the malt is washed out.

Appearance is clear deep amber with creamy off white foam cap. Aroma is hop forward, more pine and herbal. Taste is roasted, toasty malt and gives way to a clean hop bite. The malt character is especially light, lacking the deeper body and viscosity more common with the style. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is a well balance bitterness that leaves a dry feeling on the tongue. An easy drinking, sessionable amber with great aroma, but seems to be lacking richness in malt character
