2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
You have to like hops for the sake of hops to appreciate this one. Great floral hop aroma that just smacks of a tongue-shock. The color is a perfect deep brown like that of Dutch Chocolate. The flavor and palate are extrememly low on the malt end, which is due to the lower alcohol content, so this is not necessarily a beer for the heavy ale fans. Comes off dry and a bit acidic. Bitter, Bitter, Bitter! Overall, given what it is supposed to be, not a bad brew at all!

Dont get me wrong, I love hops, but this beer was too dry for me. It finishes very dry with lots of hops and it was just an all out bitterness assault on the senses, all of them! it is a great looking beer, dark ruby and perfectly clear. it smells wonderful, lots of playful hops in the nose. the finish is just terrifyingly ddry for me. this said, i have absolutely not lost faith in stone, i still love em just not this one.

The pour a clear deep ruby brown, the head tolerable, the lace chumpy, both light chocolate brown. the nose is malt, floral, hints of caramel, top is flimsy, the finish is pertainly hopped, mild carbonation. seems a bit thin to me? drinkable, but can’t say it does anything to enhance ’Stone’s Stellar Reputation’. Ranks a quite disappointing #981 on my current 1000 beer masterlist.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber hue with small head but excellent lacing. Piney and floral hops on nose with hints of sweetbread, caramel, and leather. Bitter piney taste initally but flavor seems to get lost on finish. This medium-bodied beer has a dry and crisp mouthfeel. Levitation holds so much promise but in the end fails to deliver. Watery fading finish ends up disappoining.

Honey with very fleeting tan head. Some hoppy aroma. Opens completely bland and with a thin watery body. Not much happens with flavors and in the end there is a rather unrewarding and not particularly interesting strong bitter aftertaste. Stone Brewing can do much much better.

Good beer, very hoppy-- both in aroma and taste. Finishes with quite a bitter taste, but still very drinkable (though a bit low on alcohol).

Purs a light brown, very little head that dissapates quickly, nose is very weak, slight hops smell. Taste is rather boring for a a Stone beer. Not terrible, but nothing special

an amazingly potent amber ale, one with a heavier dose of hops and malts than i expected. definitely one to try if you are a fan of amber ales.

Bottle. 12 oz. Pours slightly amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of hops, barley, figs, and citrus. Thin, rather weak bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Bland finish. Average amber ale from Stone.

I am a big fan of Stone and most of what I have had from them. I was very excited to get this beer from a friend, but was not overly impressed with this one.
Medium amber-brown color. Large head. Aroma is malty. A medium bodied amber. Malts are lively, slightly nutty and slightly sweet. Hops are fairly bitter. Drinkable, Lots of hop flavor. Nicely balanced, flavor-wise, but seemed over-carbonated to me. Could be the batch. Very cool etched beer bottle. Not quite up to what I expect from a Stone brew, but a good enough beer.
