Overall very hoppy for such a light beer and well balanced, just not terribly exciting. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA

A bit too peppery on the back of he tongue....not bad. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2004 Pour is a dark cherry amber color with a modest light tan head. Nose is caramel rich like their pale. Flavor starts burnt caramel sweet followed by a light hop bitterness and finishing long and dry. Kinda tame for Stone, but a quite quaffable session brew. Red amber colour with a fully lasting creamy and frothy tan head. Caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fruity, and lightly piny aroma. Caramel and lightly toasty malts with a fruity and leafy bitter finish and slight acidity. Medium bodied and smooth. Thanks Jer. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 2, 2003 This was a nice balanced beer that has many Stone qualities converted to a lighter format. Plenty of hops and malt. Strongly malty for these characters. Very nice beer that I was pleased to have. Not as complex or different as most Stone stuff I've had, but a really good drinking beer. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA

The flavor is much the same with enough hop character to clean up the normally sweet amber. A very easy-to-drink ale with an alcohol level that makes it sessionable. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 9, 2003 Pours a dark brown. Very complex aroma of floral hops and roasted malt. Lightly sweet body that turns astrigently bitter toward the finish. Reminds me a little of French bread. This is not the highlight of Stone brewing, but it’s nice they make something that is under 6% abv. bluemeow76 (693), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA
