3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 30, 2006Pour is warm ruby amber with a nice dense tan head...smell is sweet with lots of malty notes but the big suspect here are hops, with citrus and pine being dominant...taste is subtley malty and first but lots of hop bitterness coming out in the finish...good overall...
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Foxbush (988) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAY 18, 2013
12 oz bottle at Buz and Ned’s The amber ale poured a hazy amber color, with big creamy head and lacing. The head slowly dissapated. The hop aroma was of malt and hop resins. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. The ale had average carbonation. The finish had a rich taste that lingered at the end. This was a fun experience.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ret12 (377) - Maryland, USA - MAY 17, 2013
I thought this was one of my favorite stone beers. Nice and roasty with a citrus hop finish.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Onslow (923) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Draft. Brown brew with small head. Aroma of citrus and earth. Taste is moderately hoppy with little malt to balance. Citrus, earth and spice. A littly nutty taste. Thin palate.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 fezzy (44) - California, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Stone’s signature hop character lead this beer to be quite similar to their IPA and Arrogant Bastard, but with a very nice toasty malt finish that lingers. If you love strong San Diego hopping but want something sessionable, this is the one.

Deep amber-garnet pour with a thick, buoyant cream-colored head that settles slowly and laces intricately. Nice hoppy nose with plenty of pine resin and spice along with some candied citrus and caramel malt notes. A fair sweetness with a more substantial bitterness: a really big flavor. Light to medium bodied, somewhat grainy, with a full and borderline explosive bitterness. A really bold, flavorful session ale that I could definitely see having a few of without compromising on aroma or taste. Delicious.

On tap, served in a pint glass. Ruby amber color with a small tan head. Nose is bread, caramel, hops; taste follows with some grass. Drinkable but not hoppy and bitter like so many Stone offerings.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Shooter42 (73) - California, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Decent brew but not my style as taste is too bitter and mouthfeel is too thin.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 njnut (7) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAY 10, 2013 does not count
Citrus aroma, citrus taste. I would have avoided this a few years ago but I very much enjoyed this brew. Poured from bottle into english pint, thin but lasting head with a nice deep amber color, almost red. Can’t wait for warmer days this will be great in the summer.
4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 slsenior (33) - - MAY 10, 2013
Solid Ale. As good, if not maybe a hair better, than Stone IPA. It has a very complex flavor for an ale.

Very good brew from Stone, rich and roasty, straight from the tap in San Diego!
