COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

Bottle to glass widemouth pint jar. Pours a hazy amber color with a slight yellow head that dissipates quickly. Nice malt flavors, with a touch of citrus. Nice and light.

Clear amber of color with an off white head. An aoma of malt, bisquit, hops, citrus and weak toffee. A flavor of hops, citrus, bisquit, malty, grapefruit and weak toffee.

Garbage beer, Stone said no more a few weeks ago, thank goodness, this beer is as lame as a republican convention in Utah..

Like most Stone brews that I’ve tried this has a strong, overpowering bitterness. It is barely discernible as an amber and has none of the the well rounded or creamy notes I expect from a good amber. It has a touch of citrus but mostly bitter. Not good at all.

Bottle: Mild gush. Toasted amber & chestnut color with a lazy beige & grey tinted foam on top. Aroma of burnt tree bark, dank pines, caramel malt sweetness, citrus peel, & herbal ash. Flavor is pretty herbaceous, too, along with notes of caramel, toasted biscuits & bread, pine needles, grapefruit rind, mild toffee, & moderate hemp oil. Semi-dank in the finish with some residual malt stickiness. Decent.

12 oz bottle. Saying goodbye to an old friend now that Stone will be discontinuing this. What a bummer. Anyway, pours a lovely rich amber with a nice big white head that leaves a ton of sticky lacing. Aroma of citrus, caramel, pine, biscuits, wheat. Taste is equal parts malty and hoppy. Caramel, citrus and pine up front with the wheat and biscuit coming in behind it. Long, slightly dry finish. Medium bodied, sticky and smooth texture, average to lightly high carbonation. Very crisp, refreshing, and easy to drink. One of the best amber ales out there and a hell of a great session beer!

This was actually the first Stone beer I ever tried about 7 years ago, but it’s been a long time and I decided to revisit it. Reminds me of a session IPA, solid hop characters (especially pine) and a solid enough malt backbone. Nothing amazing, but still good.

Pours Dark copper with thick white foamy head. Aroma is malt and honey. Now my bottle from Rehils in Jesmond was quite a few months out of date, didn’t notice till after I poured it, so taste had maybe dimmed but was sweet, malty and a bit watery. Very nice but not fantastic.

Pours a dark, reddish brown with an off white head. Quite a hoppy aroma. Upfront and lasting bitterness.

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours a dark red with a thin white head and leaving some lacing. Aroma is very subtle with some citrus. Body is medium and carbonation mild. Taste is quite hoppy up front with some citrus notes. At the end of the palate the malt comes thru with some roasted peanuts and hints of burnt toast. Pretty good drinking. This would probably be amazing fresh!

On tap at Spitzer’s Corner, New York. Pours dark amber with off-white head. Nice fruity hoppy aroma and taste. Caramel, toffee, bitter finish. Light bodied.
