Lukcy Basartd is a dry-hopped meeting-of-the-Bastards in a in-the-fermenter-blend of Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale…with a perfect balance of the essence of OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale. All in all, one awesome Bastard.

Lukcy Basartd Ale will be released in November and should be available in many of the enlightened locations where the liquid Arrogance is typically found.

This is a ‘once only’ special release commemorating the 13 year anniversary of when Arrogant Bastard Ale was first released upon the unsuspecting public. That is, ‘once only’ unless we decide to make it again.

22 oz bomber. Deep red color with an inch of off white foam. Very strong aroma of citrusy hops, malt, and some alcohol, can smell it from feet away. Sweet with a very long bitter finish.

Pours a copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel malts, citrus hops, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is bitter right away from the citrus and pine hops. Nice caramel malt background that helps to balance this beer out. Slight hint of alcohol warming but not too much.

22 oz bottle. Clear reddish amber pour, thick sticky off-white head. Nice looking beer, with good lacing. Toffee, resinous, piney hops, fruit, caramel, floral bitterness, and hints of oak. This is quite nice, I normally don’t drink much Stone, but I might get more of this.

Pours a perfect deep copper. Aroma is hops. Taste is bastard all the way, but the hops bitterness in the finish is subdued somehow. A very good beer, but I can’t say I like it more than the original or the double on their own.

Pours dark amber brown with a thick beige head. Aroma of citrus, pine and floral hops and toffee. Taste is what you would expect, strong, hoppy, malty, bitter finish.

Draft… This beer rocks!… Clear, deep, dark ruby ale with copper highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention and very nice lacework. The bouquet presents pineapple, caramel, spruce and grapefruit. Medium to full-bodied with stinging carbonation. Sticky-sweet brown sugar and caramel up front, followed by medium to heavy pine and grapefruit rind bitterness. Lengthy, hearty, bittersweet finish. World class malt and hop bomb!

Jesus, you have to be a lukcy basartd to find this brew on here. Clever, and not surprisingly arrogant theme for this brew. Pours a cloudy reddish amber, with a medium-sized creamy tan head. That old familiar super-hopped red on the nose, with a bit of oak masked by a punch of piney, resinous hops and a thick layer of caramel malts. Dear God is this ever tasty. A blend of these three brews is perfect - the original AB is great, but leaves you wanting more. The double can be a bit hot, and the oaked version is simply too oaky - it covers too much of the flavor. This takes a bit of all three. Big, thick mouthfeel - slightly boozy, but not at all offensive in that respect. Tons of hops - this one finishes very dry, making you feel a bit like you’ve just stuck a drop of pine sap in your mouth. Make no mistake - this is a palate bomb. And maybe it’s just their claims of liquid arrogance and how we’re not worthy that make us want to be okay with just how much of a tongue wrecker this brew is. If that’s the case, they’re onto something - it’s working. I’m a fan.

Pours deep clear mahogany into a Sam glass. Off-white head with excellent retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Oak and resin aromas. Thick and well balanced with upfront oaked, followed by a double hot resin and a lasting bastard pine finish. Nice.

Poured amber brown, piney and citrus hops, caramel malts, little roasted malts, little molasses.
