Lukcy Basartd is a dry-hopped meeting-of-the-Bastards in a in-the-fermenter-blend of Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale…with a perfect balance of the essence of OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale. All in all, one awesome Bastard.

Lukcy Basartd Ale will be released in November and should be available in many of the enlightened locations where the liquid Arrogance is typically found.

This is a ‘once only’ special release commemorating the 13 year anniversary of when Arrogant Bastard Ale was first released upon the unsuspecting public. That is, ‘once only’ unless we decide to make it again.

20110117 bomber from Wine World. Not a huge difference overall here from a fresh Double Bastard, but it does have a sharper resinous bitterness a a more subdued sweetness that is replaced by a woody smoothing. Lingering bitterness and some bubblegum. Almost immediate resinous hop burps. A bit less carbonated than I recall for the Bastards, but maybe just my imagination. Anyway, it’s pretty good and I enjoy seeing Stone take a tongue in cheek approach to this idea rather than just labeling it a grand cru, which I suppose they could ahve rightly done.

Dark amber pour with an off white head. Aroma is sweet and pungent. Medium to full body with a syrupy sweetness that finishes strong, bitter and a little alcoholic. I can’t say that I can distinguish between the different bastards that are mixed in while drinking this but the feel is more closely related to Double Bastard.

Nice citrus aroma with slight resin background. Great balance of hop bitterness with a nice melding of sweetness that is unclear but has hints of caramel. A nice blend made by one of my favorite breweries between two of their most delicious day to day beers..oh yea with a kick

Fresh bomber. Pours a deep amber color with a thin tan head on top. Caramel, resin, grapefruit, toffee, toasted malt aroma. Definitely hoppy, as expected with Stone. The flavor is where this one shines though with the classic Stone hop bill. Bitter resins and grapefruit supported by a thick malty backbone. Sweet toffee and caramelized malts contribute to the hefty body. This is hopped aggressively so that the dry bitter hops can match, and overtake all that malt. The dry hopping is evident. I don’t know why, anything hoppy from Stone tends to be good, but I was aprehensive about this one. I guess I’m not as big into the Imperial Red, or American Strongs these days but this one is well done, just like Stone 13th was very well done.

Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma of hops, pine, caramel, and citrus. Powerful hop bitterness with caramel, pine and citrus. Big beer. Big taste and not for the faint of palate.

Pours a deep brown-amber color with tinted tan head. Aroma is full of caramel malt and arrogance. The flavor hits you with a hammer, full of bitterness from both hops and chocolate malt. At first, super aggressive but surprisingly drinkable.

Deep amber color pour with a foamy top. Aroma of hops and a bit of malt and wood. Flavor is exactly what you would expect a Stone Bastard brew to be. No surprises, but very good.

Pours a deep amber color. Aroma is of hops, tree bark, and citrus. Flavor is of centennial hops, cascade hops, and grapefruit. Leaves a very strong hop finish. This is definitely not for people who don’t like hops.

I am a Lukcy Bastard for trying this beer! aroma is sweet hops. Pours a transparent brown with a nice off whiite head. All kinds of cool crap floating around inside the glass! taste is a great hop punch, with a very filling mouth feel. Aftertaste is nice and bitter. Too bad I only have 1 bottle!

Bottle 650ml
Aroma: Neat citrus aroma , fresh , clean frontal feel. Caramel follow up together with mango and peach.
Appearance: slight haze , ruby-brown with large creamy top. Sticky lace on glass walls. 4-
Flavour and Palate: Medium plus bodied. Leafy overtone hop character. Fairly mild carbonation. Brown-caramel malt blend. Mild hop citric finish. Nice offering but not great one.
