COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lukcy Basartd is a dry-hopped meeting-of-the-Bastards in a in-the-fermenter-blend of Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale…with a perfect balance of the essence of OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale. All in all, one awesome Bastard.

Lukcy Basartd Ale will be released in November and should be available in many of the enlightened locations where the liquid Arrogance is typically found.

This is a ‘once only’ special release commemorating the 13 year anniversary of when Arrogant Bastard Ale was first released upon the unsuspecting public. That is, ‘once only’ unless we decide to make it again.

Tap at Stone and in bottle. Really is a meeting of all three bastards. Has the body and alcohol of the DB and the oak is a nice accompliment - perhaps held back by the enigma that is Arrogant Bastard. Loses the impact of Db whilst the vanilla from the barrel does it give it a nice roundness. Very solid.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours caramel with a thin beige head and a pine aroma. There is an intense caramel malt flavor with a sharply bitter hop finish Very piney.

growler from whole foods. aroma is bursting with spicy hops and caramel. very rich and amazing. pours clear ruby brown with small fluffy tan head. flavor has a bit of sweetness in front but is pretty heavy on the blunt bitter hoppiness. medium body, nice fuzzy carbonation, bitter finish that lasts all day.

Bottle. Burnt orange pour. Aromas of pine and citrus. Slightly bitter taste which is someone bland and nondescript. I expected a little more from Stone for the 13th anniversary of Arrogant Bastard...

Dark, deep amber color, Aroma of sweet caramel malt and tree sap. The flavor is much smoother than double bastard, and has a great sweet, oily hop character that is verging on sour. Quite good, but not worth the hype, in my opinion. Bottle from Sunset Corners, Miami.

Bottle. Hazy copper with a moderate fluffy brown head. Aroma is strong spicy hops, caramel, sweet malt, citrus oils and grapefruit. Taste is more caramel, spicy hops, citrus fruit, grapefruit juice, sweet malt, soft alcohol and light pineapple. Very tasty! Body is medium with a strong bubbly carbonation. Pleasant lingering bitterness as well. Ends with more citrus fruit, big caramel, sweet malt, grapefruit juice, light tropical fruit and big spicy hops. Yummy!

Bottle: The aroma has moderate caramel, tropical fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, and light pine. It pours a transparent brownish-orange with a two finger head with excellent retention and lots of sticky lacing...a very impressive looking beer. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel. There’s a nice tropical fruitiness and faint pineapple in the middle. The finish has some moderate grapefruit and lighter pine. Medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and slightly sticky mouthfeel. To me it leans more toward Double than Arrogant Bastard with almost no signs of Oaked Bastard.

Bomber from the Andersons in Toledo. Amber-brown pour with a medium light tan head and sheets of lacing. Aroma is butterscotch and caramel malts, tea, grassy hops, and wood. Tastes are sweet malts and burnt sugars balanced by grapefruit hops. Apricot in there somewhere. Long burnt floral bitter aftertaste. Palate is knife and fork stuff - medium to full, but chewy. Good as expected, but would need all the variations side by side to pick a favorite.
