COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lukcy Basartd is a dry-hopped meeting-of-the-Bastards in a in-the-fermenter-blend of Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale…with a perfect balance of the essence of OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale. All in all, one awesome Bastard.

Lukcy Basartd Ale will be released in November and should be available in many of the enlightened locations where the liquid Arrogance is typically found.

This is a ‘once only’ special release commemorating the 13 year anniversary of when Arrogant Bastard Ale was first released upon the unsuspecting public. That is, ‘once only’ unless we decide to make it again.

Poured from bomber, from one of those AB 4 packs at Costco, great deal. Clear mahogany with a good sized light tan head. Nose is overwhelmingly sweet and a boozy, a little roast and malty. The taste was as expected from a Stone beer, very drinkable, on the sweeter side with a nice bitter finish. Somewhat oily texture with a nice lingering finish.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/20/2014. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around that glass. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, floral, grass, oak, light vanilla, and floral/oak earthiness. Incredible aromas with great balance and complexity of big citrus/tropical hops, moderate dark malt sweetness, and oak notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, floral, grass, oak, light vanilla, and floral/oak earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, toast, oak, and floral/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity and balance of big citrus/tropical hops, dark/bready malt, and moderate oak flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an fantastic blended strong ale style. All around awesome complexity and balance of big citrus/tropical hops, dark/bready malt, and moderate oak flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Incredible blood red color with a citrus aroma. It has a good bite but also a smokey somewhat sweet flavor that finishes clean. Well done and one of the best looking beers I have ever seen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle-sampled a couple times i thought i rated this! Pours copper amber hue with a small off-white head with some lacing. Nose is lightly hoppy, woody, resinous, some oaky notes, caramel malt tones, cookie, and light citrus. flavors are very complex-lots of woody hoppy notes, slight metallic malt note, caramel, big resin, pine, grapefruit, some slight alcohol heat, but not detracting. I am not really that big of a Stone fan, i think they are overrated and overhyped, but this is pretty decent,.

Pours a dark amber, nearly brown. Off white head lingers. Smells of sweet candied cherry, vanilla and grape. Taste is dry and resiny. Cherry, bitter chocolate, grape come together nicely. If your a fan of the Arrogant Bastard series then you'll love this one.
