3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 1/31/13 from a capped 650mL bomber bottle purchased at Midtown. Pours dark cola brown with a thick beige head that slowly recedes to thick and rocky lace. The nose is full of caramel malt and fading hops, with plenty of pine, citrus, and just a touch of brown sugar. The flavor is the same, quite malty, with the intensely bitter pine and citrus hops dominating the back of the palate. The body is full with average, but very smooth, carbonation and a very long caramel malt and piney resin hops finish. After a long while, I get a bit of a smokey and oaky note on the finish. Although I believe that this is past its prime (I tasted it on the "Enjoy By" date), it is still pretty vibrant and is definitely a Stone beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap in a tulip glass at Butcher and the Boar with commonshawn. Visually right up my alley. Big frothy head on a mahogany colored ale. Aroma is mostly hoppy with a hint of malt. The head shows a willingness to stick around. Taste really feels like an imperial IPA...plenty hopness. Aggressive like most Stone varieties. I have a strong desire for a more balance...more sweetness or sour/tart fruit. A really well done beer as expected from this brewery...just not as amazing as I thought it would be.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The aroma is malty with hints of hops. Caramel, some raisin, dates and a hint of spruce hops. Pours a brown amber with a big light brown head, mostly diminishing, with excellent lacing. The taste is not sweet, not sour a touch bitter most be umami. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. Very Good!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap. Dark amber. Scattered lace. Nose of sweet caramel malt. Smooth body. Nothing outstandingly unique or splid, but nice malt and hop balance for a good, solid beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Stone Lukcy Basartd has a medium, cream-colored head, a mostly clear, rust-red appearance, and a nice lace curtain left on the glass. The aroma is rather bursting, and one picks up strong, but not piney, hop resin, brown, syrupy malt, and sweetness. Taste is the same, and the bitterness balances the sweetness quite well. Mouthfeel is medium, and Lukcy Basartd finishes semi-dry and easy drinking. RJT

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark amber color with an off white head leaving a little lacing. Nice malty aroma. Nice malty flavor up front with a bit of hoppiness in the middle. Little aftertaste of smooth maltiness.
