COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lukcy Basartd is a dry-hopped meeting-of-the-Bastards in a in-the-fermenter-blend of Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale…with a perfect balance of the essence of OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale. All in all, one awesome Bastard.

Lukcy Basartd Ale will be released in November and should be available in many of the enlightened locations where the liquid Arrogance is typically found.

This is a ‘once only’ special release commemorating the 13 year anniversary of when Arrogant Bastard Ale was first released upon the unsuspecting public. That is, ‘once only’ unless we decide to make it again.

Poured a rich amber with a pencil thick lacing head. Aroma is pungent, as most Stone brews, with hopy and slight floral notes. Flavor is slightly more subtle than you would expect from a Stone beer, but still has a lovely richness.

Nice golden copper pour. The taste of all three brews is intense. I get a bit of barley wine in this as well. Solid brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear deep brown with a medium beige head, moderate retention, very fine lacing. Big toasty aroma, with notes of oak, molasses, fig, grass, and pepper. Medium full body, crisp, dry, (alcohol) hot. Medium sweet, with a lingering medium-strong bitter finish. Very intensely malty, flavorful, and complex, almost over-the-top.

The aroma comes off a little oxidized surprisingly papery, some caramilized dates soaked in booze, a subdued grapefruit hop notes. Flavors are rather sweet, intense maltiness that are astringent and slight copper at times while citrus and grapefruity notes pop threw with some oak as well. A full mouth feel that has a syrupy linger on the palate. Long simple brown sugar maltiness sits cloyingly.

Dark ruby pour. Big off white head. Plenty of lacing. Big malty aroma with a nice bouquet of hops. Peppery. Taste is hops up front with a ton of malt.

Pours a finger and half of head on a clear dark straw body. The aroma is lots of lemon and pine with a little mango and grain. The taste is a great blend of lemon, pine and grapefruit bitter with mild caramel and malty sweetness. The texture is quite soft and nice. Really enjoyable.

Poured from bomber, from one of those AB 4 packs at Costco, great deal. Clear mahogany with a good sized light tan head. Nose is overwhelmingly sweet and a boozy, a little roast and malty. The taste was as expected from a Stone beer, very drinkable, on the sweeter side with a nice bitter finish. Somewhat oily texture with a nice lingering finish.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/20/2014. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around that glass. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, floral, grass, oak, light vanilla, and floral/oak earthiness. Incredible aromas with great balance and complexity of big citrus/tropical hops, moderate dark malt sweetness, and oak notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, floral, grass, oak, light vanilla, and floral/oak earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, toast, oak, and floral/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity and balance of big citrus/tropical hops, dark/bready malt, and moderate oak flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an fantastic blended strong ale style. All around awesome complexity and balance of big citrus/tropical hops, dark/bready malt, and moderate oak flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
