On tap. Pours black with a frothy tan head. Aroma of ample citrus dry hopping, earthy malts, and a touch of herbal. Didnít know what to expect flavor wise, and it wasnít much like the aroma. Pretty complex, but a touch watery as well. A touch of belgian yeast character, followed by some roasty malts, then some more bitter hop notes. The finish is quite dry especially considering the beers included. Unique in a good way.

Brown pour with some nice herbal notes is the aroma. The sage, thyme and peppers are definitely noticeable in this complex brew. Some roast is present as well. Citrus flavor in the taste. Enjoyable and interesting.

On draft at Limericks Tavern for Stone Night 4/20. Black pour with tan head. Aroma was roast and earthy hops. Taste was very interesting with so many subtle hints of lots of those beers in there. Was a little on the thin side, could have used a little more IRS in my opinion. Finished nice with the lemon thyme and sage. Fun brew for sure.

Growler fill from brewery. Pours from growler a dark brown / slightly black color with giant frothy tan head. Fizzy bubbles on the side of the glass as well...it actually looks quite like fresh-poured Pepsi. Aroma of pickled spicy peppers, some of the trademark Stone hops (citrus, pine), earthy herbs, and iced tea. Flavor has quite a bit of earthy hot peppers (though nowhere near the level of Crime or Punishment) and herbs (sage, juniper, anise). There are also distinct taste elements of the base beers, both the hoppy and darker ones, but I think Sublimely is the most notable here. Moderate body with some lingering hop bitterness. Certainly interesting on paper and drinkable enough, but not necessarily something I would want to try again. (1, 687)

Someone brought this over to me to try at DLD í12. Thanks! Pours a mostly opaque coffee brown with a small beige head. Lots of piney and citrusy hops immediately come out of the aroma, balanced by big roastiness. Also notes of peppery spices, earth, and citrus fruits. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Comes across as messy, but interesting nonetheless.

On tap. Pours with a nearly black hued body with a large and lasting tan head. Good retention. Aromas are smokey, fruity, very estery, dark fruits, peppery heat, mild hop/herbal/citrus characters, and milk chocolate. Flavors are dry, medium bitter, fruity, hoppy, light pepper burn, light tropical fruit, raisins, blueberry, dark currant. A bit chalky in its dryness. Ashy. Lively bubbles, dry, light pepper burn. Drinks as if its at least 7.5%

A deep dark clear brown ale with ruby hues and a thick lacing brown head. In aroma, a well balanced mix of caramel malt with coffee and smooth floral hops. In mouth, a nice nutty caramel with nice grassy hops, light herbs, nice and smooth. On tap at Aces and Ales Strong Beer Fest August 10, 2012.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2012 Out of the Growler its a Black pour with tan head. Aroma was roast and not to hoppy. Taste was very interesting with so many different beers in there. Fun brew for sure with a hint of peppers.

On guest tap at DLD í12. Pours a deep brown colored body with a finger-width, creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is citrus pines and earth up front with a light, vegetal pepper. A slight roast, a good amount of lemon thyme, and herbs. Flavor is similar. Lots of lemony thyme and some pines with a vegetal pepper that isnít hot at all. Herbal spices, lots of earth, a touch of roast, and a hint of licorice before the lemon thyme and peppers increase more into the finish where this is dry, moderately bitter, and earthy. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty interesting beer with a lot of things going on. I like the peppers and big lemon thyme along with the big earthy hops, but I definitely could not pick out each beer in the blend. Glad to have tried.

Served on tap at the 16th Anniversary Festival. The appearance is a brown hue with a small off white or tan head. The flavors and aromas are a hodge podge of Stoneís regular offerings (no surprise there). Belgium yeast, black peppers, with a medium roast malt profile. Some lemon and spice peppers add some subtle notes. A drinkable and pretty tasty beer but lacks a clear direction. The blend doesnít really offer anything in the middle of the taste like a great beer should. Almost comes off as empty despite a lot going on. I bet if I had this a few times each time I would pick up different pieces of the puzzle. Fun non the less.
