4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thanks to Stone for bring a big bottle to Hops in Humboldt Micro-Brew Festival and for a few of us lucky folks. I had to stand in line for the the 3 PM serving of this, and it was worth it. I have to admit I had been beer tasing for three hours, so I was lucky to even find the line at this point The pour was dark amber with small head, but then I think they were being careful not to spill any of this special brew. Arrogant Bastard it was but with the oak flavor. I cannot say for sure it was a whole lot better, only different. Maybe a little less sweet and a bit dryer. A really fun ale and a worth big brother to its sibliing, and I sure wish we could get it up here behind the Redwood Curtain.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poor is a copperish brown with a two finger light brown head. Nose is oak and piney hops. Taste has fruity hops along with a bit of caramel and the alcohol hits you at the finish. A good ale overall.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Woody improvement to a classic. Great balance. Oak chips give more complexity to this ale. Balanced hops. I prefer this to the original, yet nothing special.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle. Light brown with two finger head. Not surprisingly, itís much like the standard Arrogant Bastard, but with the addition of substantial woodiness, which does mellow some of aggressiveness of the base beer.

Bottle. Pours smooth brown with a tan head. Aroma of wood, dark fruits and a hint of vanilla along with a minor roast character. Flavour is bitter and woody with a little malt sweetness. Finish is strongly bitter.

From a victory bottle. Go Bucks! Pours dark amber with white head. Citrus and pine hop presence well balanced malt backbone, oak emerges as it warms... Really like this one...

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours brown with red hues and a tan head. Smells oakey, fruity. Has a very bitter backbone and slight oak to it. Not overwhelmingly oaky, subtle. Tastes like a good ipa with a touch of oak. Good beer.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Drank the first half cold and wasnít impressed. After it warmed up to about 60 degrees it was really good. The oak stands out just right after its warm and the butterness isnít as prevalent. The beer is a copper color and the taste is piney hops, traces of oak chips, malts, and some alcohol.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
I had this at Global Brew. Pours reddish with a off white head. Taste Carmel, sweet, citrus. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Brilliant dark ruby poor with a fawn head light carbonation. Aroma of smooth fragrant hops. Smooth mouth feel and flavour almost syrupy. Great maltyness then a bitterness that is pleasant smooth not at all sharp but lingering on the palate. Get a faint hint of oak as beer warms slightly.†
