On cask. Well balanced aroma of sherry and oak. Taste is a ton of oak and a little bitterness. A real treat to have on cask.

Everything in the Arrogant Bastard plus the oak. I liked this better, but I like oak. Not too big on oak so good! It seemed the oak helped balance out the caramel I complained about in my AB rating. Perfect brew in my opinion.

Dark copper body, with a full, pillowy white head. One of the most beautiful looking beers I’ve ever laid eyes on. Aromas are pine cones, and wood. The flavours also feature the pine and oak, but caramel malts are shining through as well. There is also some earthy dankness in the mix. A dry bitter finish rounds out the pleasure of drinking this one.

12fl oz @ brauhaus, Edinburgh. Body is deep ruby amber, big particles, head is medium tan creamy mostly diminishing excellent lacing. Nose is honey, aroma is oak chips, rotten wood, leaves, light licorice. Light sweet, medium to heavy heavy roasty bitter, later more hoppy. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Excellent dessert beer, easy to drink, very interesting, perfect balance.

undated 12 oz bottled served in a large Austrian glass mug [from notes] Pours a cloudy orange-brown with a moderate tan head. he creamy head has very good retention. Spicy hops, a floral note, roasted barley and a woodsy hint of oak in the nose. There is more than a hint of the woodsy oak in the taste, and more hop flavor than I expected given the aroma. Moderately bitter, with some detectable sweetness early on. A lasting, malt- and oak-tinged hoppy aftertaste. Medium+ body; good carbonation, but perhaps a tad high. O - a richly flavored beer with no obvious flaws. I enjoyed it and can see why some others have given it high ratings, but the flavor profile was not entirely to my liking.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2015 355 ml bottle, cellared for several months.
Dark copper body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.
Aroma with loads of dried fruits, vanilla, biscuit, some berries, oak.
Taste is pretty hoppy, with citrus, berries, stone fruits, pine, tea, imbedded in lots of smooth malts, like caramel, vanilla, biscuit, with nice, subtle, dry oak notes.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
In the finish there are lots of dry oak notes finally, with bitter, zesty hops and subtle malts.

Tasty! Complex, multifarious and really smooth to drink, all with a quite moderate ABV. The dry oak notes add another enjoyable level. Great beer with a lot of character and good drinkability at the same time!
