On tap at Rattle N Hum during their Stone event. Pours a hazed orange with a thin white head. Big and sweet, light wood and tannins, vanilla candy. Smooth, but get a bit big and boozy. Spicy, tangy red wine and tannins on the finish.

Liter swing top growler pour courtesy of askofficerfriendly. Thanks a ton man! Been wanting to try this for some time now. Pours deep near murky copper with full firm, impressive too for a growler pour, off white head. The aroma is full of malt sweetened grapefruit, vanilla, sugary apricot slices, spicy cotton candy, peach candy and oak. Seems like an odd array but they play wonderfully together. The taste is straight up smoothness urging you to sip slow to enjoy every pico liter of this liquid goodness. I get blunted smooth and also somewhat sharp citrus hop notes, sweet vanilla, malts and yummy smooth rich fruity esters. Into the finish it picks up a surge of grapefruit and tangelo as well as sweet smooth vanilla and assorted lingering hoppy goodness.

On tap at the Graduate, Davis. Pours amber with a thin off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a sweet citrus/pine flavor. The barrel aging did not seem to improve this brew.

Growler fill from stone. A lot like the regular O.G. But with some pleasant red wine and mild oak notes to the aroma and taste primarly on the back end of tasting with a slight roasted coconut flavor in the back of the throat. Palate is a little more rounded and smooth.

Draft, ahhh just what i needed to save the OG, the dry arid hoppiness is gone leaving behind a sweeter, vinous Cabernet barely wine. Light cheery and woodiness with a strong alcohol warming. Great stuff.

[Draft @ UJís Manatawny] Murky red brown color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, caramel malts, red wine, citrus fruits, sherry, vanilla oak, toast, and toffee. Taste of pine, tobacco, sherry, red wine, citrus, caramel malts, red grapes, grapefruit, dark fruits, and a good amount of hops left, finishing with a fair amount of alcohol.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Maxís: Aroma of oak, hops, red wine, caramel, slight bleach, and light alcohol. Poured deep orange/amber in color with a large, creamy, dense, off-white/pinkish head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavor. Tastes of malts, oak, vanilla, slight red wine, hops, slight alcohol, and marzipan. Tastes like a certain holiday cookie I do not know the name of. Medium to full body. Smooth , slightly sticky texture. Averae carbonation. Oak, vanilla, slight caramel, and hop finish is a little dry.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reviewed from notes. On tap at Dark Lord Day 2009.
Poured a beautiful ruby red with a nice head and plenty of lacing. The aroma is dominated by malt sweetness, caramel/toffee, and a bunch of red wine notes; slightly vinous. The taste is quite similar, with a lot of complex malty sweetness as well as the red wine, which really complements the barleywine style--Iíd love to see more brewers going in this direction with barrel-aged beers. Overall, a very solid offering. Big props to FFF for bringing this one in.
