[Draft @ UJ’s Manatawny] Murky red brown color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, caramel malts, red wine, citrus fruits, sherry, vanilla oak, toast, and toffee. Taste of pine, tobacco, sherry, red wine, citrus, caramel malts, red grapes, grapefruit, dark fruits, and a good amount of hops left, finishing with a fair amount of alcohol.

Growler fill from stone. A lot like the regular O.G. But with some pleasant red wine and mild oak notes to the aroma and taste primarly on the back end of tasting with a slight roasted coconut flavor in the back of the throat. Palate is a little more rounded and smooth.

Damn this is a beauty, thanks Tim (LagunitasFan) for the growler. When I cracked the swingtop the room filled with aromas of grapefruit and plums. My god what a treat had about a quarter inch of head that I buried my nose into. Taste is incredibly smooth with no alcohol burn at 11%. Got hints of wine going down, but very mild nothing overpowering with the wine aging. I’ve had other beers aged in wine barrels that tasted terrible, this was done just right. Other flavors were the malt, plum, pine, and no hops really. The beer is pretty thick, really really good. Drank the whole growler....

Tap at U Jacks barrel event. Pours a hazy orange amber with a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of oak, dark fruits, caramel, vanilla, red wine, nuts, toasted malt and light citrusy hops. Flavor of dark fruits, caramel, red wine, oak, vanilla, grapes and moderate hop bitterness and flavor.

Growler shared by bdburdman. thanks Brian! Deep copper pour with an off white head. Aroma of coconut, biscuit malt, earthy hops, light citrus, brown sugar...a bit of must. Flavors of caramel malt, earthy dark fruits, grapefruit, light tannins. Thick body, bittersweet, bready, sticky, malty, with a bitter/malty finish. Tasty stuff.

Growler from naven. Very nice brew. Red wine barrel aging definitely adds depth. Sweet, caramel, peppery. Some Cabernet notes. Love it.

Rating #500. Growler shared by bgburdman9. Semi-opaque amber color with a big tan head. Malty and grainy aroma with plenty of hop, some red wine and a touch of oak. Boozy and malty flavor up front with hops in the finish. Outstanding. B-wine isn’t my favorite style, but I really like how the red wine aging and hops dumbed down the sweetness in this one.

2008 Draft sample poured by Mitch Steele at The Denver Rare Beer Tasting event during GABF week on 9/25/09. pours a deep orange with a white head... big body with the hops faded away... very smooth throughout... some light banana... some wood notes, light fruit and sweetness on the nose... finishes well with more barrel notes... really glad I got some of this.
