Draft at WOB as the double dry hopped version. Meaty and smokey aroma. Flavor follows with a lot of meat juice drippings and woody smoke with light citrus. Interesting.

Copper color with sudsy off-white head. Smoked oaky aroma. Taste is quite smoked and bacony, a nice balanced barley/hop character.

On tap at Stone Liberty Station. Amber in color with a good sized off-white head. Aroma is of oak, smoke, light styrofoam, leather, pepper, and caramel. Taste is of pepper, oak, smoke, light charcoal, booze, a hint of stewed veggies, and caramel.

>> Hazy deep orange pour, nice white foam with best retention of the flight. Nose is macadamia, white chocolate. Taste brings a nice macadamia nut bitterness, toasted macadamia nut. Long woody and acidic finish. Don’t pick up any smoke unfortunately.

On tap @ Stone Liberty Station. Hazed orange pour with a sticky off-white head. Slight smoke, lots of oak, and a really rich vanilla character. Nice caramel sweetness and plenty of fruit. Sweet flavors of caramel, vanilla, and candied apple. Quite a bit of oak, light smokiness, and subtle bitterness. Better than the original.

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a cloudy amber topped with a sand head. Nose is candy sweetness barrel malts and a nice molasses note. Taste is as the nose with lots of sweetness some oak molasses vanilla and some grapefruit bitterness.

Growler. Pours hazy reddish brown with a creamy off white head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, caramel, molasses, and smoked malt. Thick sticky palate. Tastes of oak and vanilla up front transitioning into the caramel and molasses flavors and finishing with the smoked malt and more wood flavor on the back end.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and dispensed to a snifter showing a murky, brownish amber color, with a respectable, but short-lived hat of off white, creamy foam, and later some streaks & spots of lacing. The aroma was immediately woody, oak & smoke, with decent maltiness, but a slight hint of meatiness to the yeast. The flavor was a continuation of the malt, plus a very lingering, earthy, and rind-like hop bitterness that, combined with the wood, presented a similarly lingering, tanniny bite that was not altogether favorable. Soft carbonation didn’t help the body seem any more than medium to me. Alcohol was noticeable but somewhat hidden. Glad I tried, but probably only a one time deal.

Tap @ Stone O’Side. Murky copper brown pour with a froth of off-white foam. Aroma is vanilla, light and dry oak, smoked malt, and clean hop bitterness. Taste has a prominent vanilla/oak character before giving way to the smoke, dense raisin and caramel, and hop bitterness on the finish. The extra oak character smoothes the beer out. Smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. An improvement on the base beer.
