2012 release.
Appearance: The body is hazy with an amber hue, slight brown color, only a very thin tan head that has poor retention.
Aroma: The aroma is sweet with caramel and toffee with fruity aromas, some grape and musky raisins.
Taste: The flavor is less malty than expected from the aroma, there’s a sweet caramel backing with some toasted malts, some floral and lightly fruity hops on the finish with lots of raisin flavor.
Palate: Medium to thick bodied, light to medium carbonation.
Overall: This is a solid barleywine, but I am just not a huge fan. This is available at a great price point though so it’s worth buying to try and possibly age a while.

Bottle 2012 drank Oct 2014. Pours a murky honey color with surprising head. Aroma is big honey sweetness with wood and dust, bit of new leather. Flavor is very hoppy bitter after rich going umami malty sweetness the ending clean alcohol and wood tannin dry. Feel is velvet lively to start then astringent end. This is growing on me. Very nice.

Pours a deep amber with generous white head. Aromas of stonefruit which is backed up in the taste, some spice and rich toffee flavours. Sensational.

Smooth and wonderful barley wine! Pours a light hazy copperish amber with a nice light brown head. Aroma of caramel, alcohol, sweet dried fruits and American hops. Taste is rich caramel, dried fruits and citrus American hops. A bit hot and lightly harsh finish... Bit this 2013 version would be great aged another 2 years or so!

Huge caramel on nose, same caramel in taste with surprisingly intense piney hop kick, intense maltiness in background but doesnt cover too pushy hops, bit bready, dried fruits. Hop syrup in two words. Well.. its interesting and enjoyable brew, but feels bit unbalanced for me as bitterness overcomes sweetness way too much ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Brewdog Shepard’s bush. Aroma is heavy cinnamon nutmeg spices with toast and sweet unrefined sugars and earthy notes. Clouded caramel brown with a lasting thin cream head. Flavour is sweet brown sugars, cinnamon spices. Some earth. Hides the alcohol pretty well. Palate is viscous. Sweet and lowish carbonation. A bit sweet for me.

Aroma is caramel, pours a dark brown with small head of white. Taste is caramel and some fruit, bready and very malty. It does have a hop presence, even though there is some sweetness. Very drinkable.
