Orange color. Huge malt aromas, sweet, caramel, dark fruits, hops. Taste is sweet, dried fruits balanced by a hoppy bitterness. Bitter and alcoholic finish.

On tap at Craft Beer Base, Osaka. Pours nice deeper mahogany, smooth carbonation and long lasting head. Aroma is as sweet as freshly cooked strawberry jam. Caramelized sugar and berry sweetness. Taste is also full of caramel flavours, strong malty backbone, tasting as I expect a good barley wine to taste. Yet, it has some hoppy feel to it at the end, Stone is being Stone and has hopped this massively. Long bitter linger is going to remind me this lunch-time half-pint probably for quite a long.

From a bomber. 2016 release (couldn't wait!). Pours a dark ruby/amber and makes a good tan head with zillions of bubbles. Aroma is of brandy, hops. Tastes of caramel, brown sugar, hops, and is a bit boozey. Great way X ample of a seasoned barley wine. Love it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at CBC 2016 - second day. Deep caramel pour with a thin beige head. Tons of hops in this barley wine, making it quite delicious. Notes of caramel, grapefruit, pine resin.

2016 vintage on tap at Brewski 140516. This is a beer that is all about the hops and malt. Looks very good in the glass with an inviting toffee colour and an aroma that drags you in. You immediately get the sense from the very first sip that this beer will bite you if you mess with it - best to sip and savour.

Big bottle consumed in bowling spring session finale. Pours an attractive copper/almost amber color. Full finger of head...off white. Caramel and toffee aroma with elements of peat and bourbon. Taste is malty and biscuity with the caramel, toffee, and burnt sugars. Alcohol presence felt and grows with further consumption. The hoppy bitterness waits until the end to come into play. Oily and resiny mouthfeel. The galaxy can feel comfortable drinking this one.

Super great and sweet pour with rich caramel, oat, malt, yeast, and sugar textures. The nose was balanced with hops as well as candied sweetness with an earthiness.
