Really well made bakery wine. 2013 22oz bottle. Quite hoopy compared to other bakery wines I have had, but I am a fan of hops, so we are good there. This one was especially bitter, also. Will buy again, for sure. Yum.

.65l bottle @ Vihreå Haltiatar Pours nice deep with high head. Aroma is sweet malts, alcohol, dark fruits, raisin, some syrup. Bready. Flavor is alcohol, sweet malts, raisin, syrup and bread. A bit stingy palate, but not too much. Bready finish. Swell!

On nitro-tap at the Most Arrogant Bar Bash in Greenville at Barleys. This s a strong beer, but the feel is nicely soft, relatively speaking. Crystal clear, deep dark amber with a durable head and great lacing. Smells like a cross between a fine liqueur and an ale. Smooth and rather full body. Rich and very well-balanced aroma and flavor.

Krämig och härlig kropp. Dämpad doft i förhållande till vad man kan förvänta sig av en stone. Ganska hög beska

22 ounce bottle. 2013 vintage. Lightly hazy copper red color with a small tan head with nice clinging lace. Rich sweet caramel malt nose with notes of brown sugar and dried fruit. Rich bittersweet toasted malt flavor has a complex spicy hop character. As barley wines go, this has a lot of hops.

Cloudy orange with off white head. Aroma is malty floral. Taste is hoppy bitter and perfume floral. Going to rate at a later date as I just finished a rauchbier.

One of those barleywines that has as much hop definition as it does malty dark fruit flavor. Tried at the KC Hopfest in 2013.

65 cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika. 2012 edition. Pours unclear deep golden with a nice creamy offwhite head that leaves fast and leaves a lacing. Aroma is malty with notes of herbs/floral. Light bitterness, medium sweetness, low carbonation, full body. Some alcohol notes in this one. Not my favourite Barley Wine.

From a bomber, 2012 vintage aged for a few months, pours a hazy dark brown with a thin head & lacing. Big powerful caramel & honey malt aroma, balanced really well with piney, earthy, kind of metallic hop character, I think I would try this blind and know it was Stone. There is warming alcohol and a quite thick resiny palate. Goes down smooth. Really good goods.

Savoureux vin d’orge.
