2007 Vintage on tap at Sunset Grill, Copper body with tall frothy white head. Very sweet sugary aroma, like hard candy and rum. White rum, and lots of it. Flavors were very muted and sublte, dried cherries, blueberries, dates and sticky almost funky malts. Very heavy sugar, and really strong carbonation still. Quite nice.

Pours hazy amber with a nice aroma of hops and candy. Flavor is dominated by the powerfully sweet malt and bitter and sourness from the hops.

Nice dark golden color, coppery I guess. Smallish, light tan head disappeared fairly quickly. Light citrus aroma, with hops, alcohol and something I couldn’t pin down. Kind of sweet. Flavor was a bit sweet as well, with noticeable alcohol, hops, and barely. Malt component was there but not overwhelming. Certainly not the best barley wine you’ll find, but fairly available and still very good. Not my favorite style but I was disappointed when the local retailers ran out before I could get a second bottle. 2005 vintage, 22 oz bottle.

2010 vintage. Collosal tan head sits on top of a dark brown amber body. Nose is mostly caramel malt, citrus hops, and some spice. Quite mild taste and an easy drinker. Alcohol is well hidden, not too sweet or overpowering like some BW’s. Nice

Figs, caramel, and fruit are heavy on the nose. Caramel is dominant on first taste. Finishes with a delightful hop bite but is very smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2006. Suprisingly sweet and pleasant for a stone brew. Nice malty taste. Pretty hoppy, but not as outspoken as some of stone’s beers. The balance in this one is a rarity for stone. Solid effort.

2007 version from the bottle. Pours with a limited light biege head that quickly disappears. Carbonation appears limited. The color is reddish orange and clear. Aroma is llmited but the beer is still a little cold. Hints of caramel and raisin are notable on the nose. The flavor was sweet with brown sugar and a strong astringent hop finish. The mouthfeel is strangely mixed, it’s briefly medium to heavy but quickly dissappears. The alcohol is very noticeable but might mellow after the beer warms up. Although the alcohol keeps going up the overall product doesn’t hold up to earlier examples.

This rating went up 3% in the last 5 hours. But looking at the posts, no one has posted anything since Feb.20- its now March 19th. Isn’t that wierd? How does it work. So that’s what I was thinking, and then I noticed I was on the 2003 and before section. So I was totally wrong... It all works fine.
