4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice. Big. Bold. What do you want? I had some on tap at Rattle n Hum in NYC. Pours an opaque brown/orange with a lingering head. Complex nose of fruits and sweet candies. Flavor is nice blend of sweetness, maltiness and slight bitterness. Highly complex with myriad sensations. Give it a whirl.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Early 2006 release. Sweet hoppy aroma. Bright orangey color, with bubbles but little head. Starts sweet, continues sweet, then some malty character comes along, and suddenly the hop that was always there actually arrives. Might need some maturity. Too late for this one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2009 Amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, malt and caramel, with tobacco and wood from hops. Sweet malt and alcohol flavour with plenty hops and bitterness. Tasted side-by-side with Thomas Hardy (On tap at The Rake, August 2009) it was extremely powerful. And very much lacking in sophistication.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, bought @ Cracked Kettle, Amsterda.
Pours a nice orange, fairly clear with a big, staying, creamy, yellowish head. Really an appetizing look. Lovely sweet caramel aroma, light toasted, somewhat grainy. Good hoppiness, some strawberry, peach, grapefruit and light piney. Medium carbonation, lovely oily mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely balanced between malty sweetness, hoppy bitterness (of which there is a lot) and viniousness. Peachy, grapefruity hops, some pine. Long, lingering vinious and heavy bitter aftertaste. Really a nice sipper.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2007 Vintage: A: A nice amber color without much head to speak of and hardly any lacing.
S: Extremely malty and sweet caramel, the hoppiness that is usually present in this beer when fresh is almost gone.
T: Lots of malty sweetness, caramel, toffee, and some very slight bitterness.
M: Almost syrupy--very full bodied with low carbonation.
D: Much more drinkable than it’s fresh counterpart, but obviously not something you’re going to have several of.
