The hops were there but not overwhelmingly so. I would buy this one frequently and I plan on it. Yet another great beer by Stone. manuchampions (162), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

I know Stone is well respected, perhaps this batch was not optimum. I’ll stand with the wow factors of Terrapin Rye or Drifter and save a couple of bucks. darn1207 (724), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Pale malt and floral hop aroma. Nutty caramel malt taste with a nice bitter finish. Creamy medium palate. Straightforward in a good way. robsohoppy (8), California, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 24, 2010 Love this one. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 23, 2010 Bottle. Pours light amber with half-inch milky head. Very pleasant floral hops aroma. First sip begins with a very smooth and rich malt flavor followed by some hop bitterness. There’s a nice creaminess to the body that you don’t encounter much with Pale Ales. It finishes smooth with a boozy, bitter aftertaste along with a faint barley flavor. I like the balance between the rich malts and the bitter hops ensuring that it’s not too sweet nor too bitter. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 22, 2010 This beer has a clear copper pour with some red hues, gave an off-white head with some effervescence (there is are some bubbles floating from the center of the glass),
aromas of earthy, leafy hops with dry toasted malt and some caramel, maybe a hint of citrus on the nose,
flavors of toasted malt and caramel with a little earthiness in the background, there is little malt sweetness in this beer,
this beer is dry at the finish with some smooth bitterness,
the mouth feel is a little less than medium,
a beer that is smooth and easy to drink.
