Aromas of caramel, citrus, and grass. The flavor found a nice balanced mix of caramel and citrus. Medium body with a mild bitterness. noncaloric (605), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2009 Glowing amber-orange pour with an abundant beige head. Nice lace. Grassy aroma. Flavor combines hops bitterness, grass, a rubbery sulfur quality. Nice caramel malt body with something of a spicy quality, but overall altogether too green for my taste. Medium body, warming on the palate. GranvilleTim (476), Granville, Illinois, USA

Creamy mouth tastewith a little hop at the end. Very mellow mouth feel. This is a beer that you take a sip, let the flavor set for awhile, then take the next. Enjoy it over some time. Nice lacing on the glass. Great Pale Ale- the best I’ve had from Cali as of yet. harbuck76 (128), El Cajon, California, USA

It’s certainly better that most pale ales, but that said, it is a far cry from Ruination, Arrogant and Double Bastard. Or smoked porter. Just sayin. JCB (1743), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2009 On tap at Milltown, Carrboro. Pale orange pour with a nice frothy head and moderate lacing. The nose is pleasingly bready, but with more aromatic hops than the average APA. Light citrus definitely benefits the beer, which has the kind of solid malt profile you’d expect, but the fruity/floral grace notes make it distinct and enjoyable. xs2500 (90), Mississippi, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 13, 2009 Pours nice amber color with a nice creamy head. Nice and hopy, very reasonably price as well, but you should expect nothing less from Stone.
