2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2007 on tap at the brewery: most people disagree, but some do... the stone beers on draft have a really bad funky flavor and aroma. The entire brewery reeks of it. I believe it’s more of their house character, which would make sense since I don’t like it. This comes off as a fairly typical APA with a house character I do not enjoy.

I love Stone beer. This started it for me a few years ago when I first had it on tap in Santa Monica. Now I’m a Stone freak. Just sampling a bottle of this beer, for pale ale, it kicks. Very balanced, mild carmel malt, and mild hop. Personnaly, I prefer IPA’s, but I would never say no to this one!

Draught. Clear copper color with bubbly white head. Pleasant floral hop aroma and flavor perfectly balanced with biscuity, caramel malt. Solid pale ale, very good.

Amber with a decent goldish-tan head and a hoppy citrus aroma. Flavor had some malts and a mild hoopy taste with citrus notes.

In my humble opinion this is exelent beer. Will dirnk any time. I found tis to be better than Stone’s own IPA.

nice dark copper pour with a tan mushroom head. nose of citrus flowery hops and flax. flavor pushes large sticky hops with a nice malt backbone to drive it. a very good pale ale.

Full of hops, but not overbearing. Sticks to what stone does best. Enjoyable over the long run. NOt that dark, head settles quickly, awesome stone. Very drinkable.

22 oz bottle. Beautiful deep golden body with a very small white head. Aroma was hoppy with some earth tones. Flavor was very nice and surprisingly (for Stone) subtle. It was relatively light in flavor with hop notes, but nothing overpowering. A very nice clean, drinkable pale ale.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice white head that eventually just leaves a film. As expected, good aroma of pine, citrus, and resin. Quite a bit less than the Ruination. Overall, this is a good IPA, but not as good an IPA as Ruination is a DIPA.

Great pale ale! An amber colour with hues of orange, it has a small head but bit flavour. Sweet hoppy and floral aroma with a great citrusy flavour. Another very good offering by Stone Brewing...try their IPA!
