Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

Dark copper/light brown. Small, tan head setles quickly. Very balanced brew with resinous hops and slightly toasted malt. Medium, balanced palate. Very drinkable. Simple, good beer.

Thanks to awaisanen for this one! The pour produces a large, creamy off white head that slowly slips below to a deep orange body. Light flowery citrus hop aroma. Some light malts that are supported by some mild (by Stone standards) hopping. Very drinkable as an everyday beer, but the least exciting of the Stone offerings that Iíve had. Glad to finally get to try this one just the same.

Pours a medium amber color, with an off white head. Very hoppy and malty preasance. If it comes down to a Stone Pale, and a Sierra Nevada........Stone all the way.

Copper color with a nice size head. Excellent balanced hop - malt aroma. Big initial hop flavor followed by a nice smooth malt flavor. This beer is toned down for a Stone beer, but very good nonetheless. Medium body.

A very good everyday beer. "Pale" in this case is certainly not synonymous with a lack of flavor (go ahead and try to find a Stone beer that doesnít have flavor...I dare you). I avoided this beer for such a long time because I related "pale ale" to "clear beer". This beer sets new standards for pales.

Bottle. Deep orange in color with a nice fluffy white head. Malty caramel and hoppy aroma. Hoppy and malty flavor. Citrusy notes. Well balanced beer. Medium bodied. Clean mouthfeel. Easily drinkable. Finish is bitter. Crisp and refreshing. Nice.

Dark gold to amber with a nice white head. Great carmel nose with clean hoppyness. Good on the mouth and easy to drink. This is so simple it is wonderful. The best American Pale Ale on the market in my opinion.

Poured a darker golden/amber color. Light tan head, dissapeared. Amazing hop smell, malty tones as well. Medium carbonation. Best pale ale iíve gotten to enjoy thus far. Absolutely brilliant. Too bad its not available in my area, as I received this via Liquorama.net mail/online. Its no Arrogant Bastard, but its definately a bastard of a good time.

Made a good appearance, poured a clear red hued amber with a nice sized foamy white head that settled into a thin, bubbly lacing, medium carbonation. Had an English buttery, toasted caramel malt nose with a floral hoppiness, a little toasted graininess, and hints of fruitiness that I think comes from the malts. A crisp, smooth, buttery medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability. Buttery caramel malt taste at first, a fresh, raw, rolling, balanced hop bitterness follows, a toasted graininess in the middle and a slick, buttery, oily hop and grainy finish, delicious. An excellent Pale Ale, my introduction to Stone Brewery, a great start.

Poured clear bright copper with a white head. Sweet malt with earthy, dirty, woody hops. The flavor was a gritty, dirty, muddled, mash of hops and malt with a spicy finish. Fuller body with a short finish. Thereís not really anything I enjoyed about drinking this one. Kind of a dissapointment in my eyes. Good thing our friends at Stone have a lot going for them.
