Pours copper/amber with a nice straw like head. Smells of pinecones, barnyard and grass. Tastes bitter with some nice floral undertones. Metallic finish.

Bottle. Pours a amber color. Smells sweet, citrus, hoppy, and floral. Bitter in the mouth and finish. A bit hoppier than most pale ales, but very good. I usually hate pale ales, but I’d drink this in a second.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Has a great, sweet aroma -- a cross between amaretto and caramel. It tastes a bit strong and bitter for a pale ale, but the flavors mellow and blend as the beer warms up. Overall a very well crafted pale ale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
It had a nice hoppy aroma, a rather pleasant citrusy malty flavor and a nice amount of carbonation to boot. I could drink a lot of this one. There is a little bitterness but not to the level I often associate with Pale Ales. The only negative is the head seems to be lacking and it seems a bit flat despite having a pleasant finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 12, 2007 Small to medium sized fluffy light tan head. Good carbonation. Reduces to a thin foam. Light malt and hops in the aroma with a little bit of pine. Color is a slightly cloudy medium orange/amber. Darker that I expected. Flavor is kind or sharp and bitter. Little more pine and resinous hops in there with a bit of roasted malts for balance. Little dry at the finish with more bitterness. A very good pale ale.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2007 I like Pale Ale, and I like this beer. Exactly what you would expect, more hops and malt than the others, with a tart aftertaste. I will drink this again, mark my words.
