3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark amber in color, piney hop nose, sweet and bitter in flavor. I think I like most other pale ales better than this one. I think itís the piney hops that put me off.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Canít tell if I like the smell, but overall this is one of those beers that grows on you. The taste is as funky as the aroma and looks similar to Sierra Nevada. Not a bad beer, but most of the other Stones are better.

Pours dark amber out of 22 oz bomber. Little to no head, no lacing left. Malty, butterscotch aroma with a touch of hops in the background. The flavor that comes to mind up front is prunes. Medium oily mouthfeel. Nice bitter finish, decent malts.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Malty, toasty, caramel/butterscotch aroma with some piney hop character. Clear amber with mostly lasting off-white head. Minimal lacing. Malty, fruity, spicy hop flavor with some diacetyl/butterscotch and caramel notes and a mellow bitterness. Effervescent palate, semi-creamy mothfeel with a nicely lingering finish and aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber color with a chunky off-white head - looks pretty good. The aroma is some caramel, doughy malts with a mild, pine and light citric hop accents. The flavor is well balanced between the sweetness of the malt and the gentle hop bitterness. It finishes rather quickly with a easy smack of hop bitterness. Good session ale material.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Sheraton San Diego - Poured a darkish amber with a fairly thick off-white head. Aroma was on medium malt and citrus/grapefruit hops. Nicely balanced. Flavor is got a good mix of malt/caramel and hop bitter bite. Needed more hops though and would be better as an IPA if it had more.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Rama in San Diego. Copper amber in appearance with a creamy white head. Nice hoppy aroma with a bit of a berry-like essence. Flavor is smooth- caramel and solid bitterness without the extreme grapefruit of the IPA. This is a very well-made pale ale. Possibly the best American Pale Ale that Iíve encountered.
