3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Large thanks to EnnisKillen for sending me this brew a couple weeks ago.
Pours a dark bronze body and a big fluffy kaki colored head. The aroma and flavor brought big suggestions of caramel, a note of honey, molasses, and a slight smokiness as well. It was impossible to miss all the ripe fruity notes, plums, apricot, peach, a Big hint towards sugared raisins and dates. No doubt that this PA leans a bit more toward the English side of the spectrum… although there was a hefty, but not overwhelming American style hop bite in the finish. I’ve gotta agree that this is yet another Tasty offering from Stone!

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
(on bottle) Has a very nice aroma of heavy fruits and burnt figs, powerfull for a "light" type as US pale ale, I should say. Nice dark copper color too. Watery mouthfeel and very high aroma/bitter hopping. I don´t know, guys, is it that good?! Maybe it´s just not my style...

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Another fine Ale from Stone. This one is at least the equal to Sierra Nevada, but with Stone IPA and Arogant Bastard on Tap,this one finishes third.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a perfect example of an american pale ale in my opinion. Better than Sierra Nevada with a particular taste that I can recognize as Stone. Some wrote that this was an overly malty brew but to me the hops are clearly there, in the aroma and taste. This is the kind of beer I can drink on any occasion....like right now.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear amber/orange beer with a creamy light tan head. Sweet caramelly aroma with milk chocolate and fruit tones. Very nice balanced and very delicious. Flavor starts sweet caramelly and ends with a bitter hoppyness. Notes of raisins and chocolate. Soft and tasty and another excellent beer from a world class brewery!

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark copper body with a minimum amount of head. Not a stong aroma or flavor like all the other Stone’s. Has a nice thick texture but does lack some flavor. The hops are mild and the malt is too giving room for the honey and flower sweetness i sense. Had this numerous times on tap and 6 packs but now i finally bought a pint and got around to critiquing it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clean, crisp, clear. A good session beer worth buying over and over again. Stone knows how to make good beers. This one is not great...just good again and again!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. This is a very, very malty beer. So many malts that the best one word to describe this is earthy. There is a nice bitter there that borders on too much. I love Stone, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Too musty.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2004 Clear amber color - small head. Not as hoppy as I had expected- partially covered by light caramel malts. Sweet mouthfeel and no aftertaste- easy to drink.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Light amber color and makes a medium white head. Smell has a slightly roasted malt characteristic, but not too exciting. Flavor is interesting.. it opens up spicy and sweet, roasted, nutty and has a nice bitter hop finish. Mouthfeel is a solid medium, has a slightly sticky syrup aspect that sticks to the mouth and throat as it goes down. I like it, its a good session beer.
